Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's probably to do with both Setanta Ireland and 3e. That's fair enough I suppose. They have paid for the rights after all.

Did the Seville forward just get booked for his goal celebration?

Stuffed the ball up his jersey.

He did indeed. A little bit more leniency would be appreciated, since the match was over, but it's UEFA and their rules :(

That's what I thought. Was only watching out of the corner of my eye at the bar, and first thought he was booked for playing on, as he seemed to pause as if thought off side, then I seen the goal was given.

Very silly I thought, wonder what the definition in the rule book is.

I think, the issue was either flashing his jersey (even if it was for a split second), or the attempt of delaying the match.

So far it is anyways! Where Spurs are playing is 300 miles away from Kiev. If I was a Spurs fan, I'd have cancelled my travelling plans tbh, it's way too risky out there atm.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,672 ✭✭✭elefant

Classic UEFA that they finally agree to change the venue of the game away from a stadium a few miles from massive civil unrest in Kiev the DAY BEFORE the game! I mean, honestly, is there anyone in their right mind who could have thought that having a game of football in Kiev was the right thing to do this week?

Valencia requested the game be moved somewhere safer over a week ago- yet it's only after mass deaths in the city that a change of venue is deemed necessary. Madness.

Good stuff for Valencia. You'd fancy them to go through after winning 0-2 'away' to Kiev, and if Ludogrets can capitalise on their away win, you'd have to fancy Valencia to get past them into the last 8. Pizzi is really turning Djukic's shambles around at Mestalla.

the fact that in Italy, what is on the bottom of your shoe is given more respect than the Europa League, I wouldn't be all that surprised that Lazio were beaten, they're not exactly ripping it up in Serie A. I expected Swansea to turn over Napoli, as Napoli really don't need Thursday games while chasing third spot.

Gutted for Swansea that was a heroic effort. Cracking game to watch. Great effort by both teams. Napoli probably deserved it too.

Swansea can be proud of that tbf. Shame for them after getting the away goal and staying in contention literally until the last kick of the ball. Nearly won it about 5 times in injury time ffs.

Plenty of drama in the 2nd half at Spurs. 3 goals so far and a sending off.

    Edit: 4 goals now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 200 ✭✭DM360

Only saw one replay of the sending off but it definitely looked harsh, Soldado threw an elbow in the first half and got off scott free. Very poor from Vertonghen, I hate that sort of thing.

Game has been completely swung in Spurs' favour now, no wonder really though.
