Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Eriksen is a little magician, changed that game completely.

He is the only Spurs summer buy who would hold a place in the current LFC side and even then he'd have competition from Coutinho and Sterling these days.

Hamsik will be off in the summer, benched again. Stupid hair put me off him.

Yes he has been the best of the buys, the rest have been muck. having said that Chadli seems to be improving last couple of games.

Finished 2-2 in the end. Spurs went 2-1 and were pushing for 3rd then conceded a penalty probably due to tired legs.

Have to fancy Juve for the competition now imo.

Jonathan Soriano is just a total goal machine. Score again tonight for Red Bulls.

RB have a goal difference of +70 in the Austrian Bundesleague! Him and Alan score when they want to.

Edit somethings happened game suspended, missiles thrown on the pitch

This delay is frustrating, it was a good game so far, Salzburg are great to watch on the attack

    Salzburg losing now.

    Porto!!

That's the goal of the competition!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

Porto up 2-1. Napoli are utterly pathetic at the back, Quaresma dribbled through them at walking pace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Napoli will be kicking themselves, loads of chances missed over the two legs.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

My boy Quaresma, sensational goal. He's been good since returning to Porto.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Napoli are just appalling in front of goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,375 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Quaresma better make the world cup squad! The Portugal manager needs to recognise his brilliance.
Too many people still judge him based off 2 years of his career in Italy and England. He was class at Besiktas. I'm sure he was class in the UAE too.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Epic choke job going on in Salzburg.

Result of the night that - down to 10 men from the 9th minute, go a goal down after 22 minutes and score 2 in the second half to win. Basel are through.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭Soft Falling Rain

Napoli only have themselves to blame, but I found the gutlessness they displayed once Porto equalised even more shocking than their missed chances. Very unlike a Rafa team to suffer such head dropping all over the pitch.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,813 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

That was frustrating to watch as a Salzburger backer, they played much better but missed some easy chances and conceded from 2 corners

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Seville derby is going to penalties.

    Some cracking penalties so far!

Nono should be smacked for that. Worst penalty I've seen awhile. Sevilla are through.

Must not have been that good, Besiktas paid off his contract early just to get rid of him. After the spell in the Gulf, he didn't even have a club for 6 months!

Besiktas paid to get rid of him because of clashes with the chairman. They signed him to a contract they couldn't afford and then tried to get him to half his salary. He refused (although he took a paycut) as is his right so he was thrown to the reserves. The chairman also claimed he showed his mickey to a female worker and urinated on the kitman. Yeah, I'm serious. All this because he refused to sign a new contract and represented the squad in talks about unpaid wages. The chairman clearly holds grudges.

    18 goals and 27 assists is 72 games (67 starts) isn't bad.

Quaresma's outside of the foot cross always was a thing a beauty. Lovely assist for Mangala's goal.

Basel giving Valencia a bit of a trashing.

Would be nice to see them in the final.

Just flicking through all the games there. Managed to catch Silvio's injury. Wished I had stuck to the Sevilla - Porto game. His leg is broken.

Typical Pirlo free kick goal is cancelled out by Briand's strike. Another goal and Lyon are through.

Sevilla have also scored too. 3-0 now and lead 3-1 on aggregate.

I didn't see the game but what the hell happened to Basel?

They were 3-0 down before the two lads got sent off. Were they dreadful or were Valencia very good?

Seems it finally dawned on Valencia that the whole season was boiling down to this competition. Best performance of the season by all accounts, even better than beating Barca at the Camp Nou. Amazing really, considering the abject performances of the last 3 weeks in all competitions.
Valencia dominated the second half in the first leg too, but the chances there fell to Vargas who couldn't finish his dinner. Chances fell to Paco tonight who is a star in the making at 20 years old.
Sommer actually had a brilliant game in goals for Basel. Shows how bad the rest of their team was.

The semis will be very tasty by the looks of things benfica/valencia/sevilla/juventus. Cant look past juve winning it though

Schieber for Paco seems a fair deal IMO :p

Sommer is a class act, Gladbach got themselves one hell of a keeper.

That Sevilla / Valencia tie should be spicey!!

Strong semi final lineup, a successful year for the competition I'd have said.

Russian Cup: FK Rostov 3 - 1 Luch Energiya Vladivostok

There won't be a long and arduous trip to eastern Russia next season. I was hoping Man Utd or Spurs would get them.

Anyone watching the Sevilla-Valencia game? One of the worst offside calls I can remember gone in Sevilla's favour there. Mbia was about 2 yards offside!
