So I am guessing this does not just include songs played by banjo's, flutes and other stereotypical "trad" instruments.

If it is, I would say Johnny McEvoy's version of Mursheen Durkin.

Otherwise I'd listen to Tommy Fleming's version of Galway Bay. So much soul, passion, it has everything.

It would not be one of my favourite genres of music, but there are a few special songs and performances. I would have to plump for Raglan Road sung by Luke Kelly. Luke was an absolutely superb singer.
