Control Promotions in association with The Voodoo Lounge presents our very first 'Summer Showcase w/ Ryan O'Shuaghnessy, Touchwood, Empire Circus, Color/Sound and Verona Riots'.

    Tickets>>> http://entertainment.ticketsolve.com/shows/873500218/events

Summer Showcase will be a night to highlight acts that we believe are gonna blow your socks off at festivals around Ireland this year. Included in the line up will be 'Ryan O'Shaughnessy,Touchwood, Empire Circus, Color/Sound and Verona Riots'.

'Ryan O'Shaughnessy' During 2012 on the Britain’s Got Talent final, one hopeful was a marked contrast to the show’s reliably entertaining magicians, performing pets and dance squads – one man, an acoustic guitar and his own songs. Performing the moving No Name, 19-year-old Ryan O’Shaughnessy was as improbable as a lion turning up on Springwatch.

Having scored a Top 10 Album in theUK Charts August 2012, Number 1 Album in the Irish Charts 2012 Ryan has built up quite an impressive name for himself.

Ryan’s new move appears just as unlikely – releasing a self-titled mini-album of six self-penned songs, all as sparse and beautiful as his ITV1 highlight would have his millions of new fans hoping for..It’s a collection of hauntingly delicate songs that see Ryan comfortably sit next to the musical peers he admires, like Ed Sheeran and John Mayer. (Ed has Tweeted his admiration for Ryan, saying of No Name: ‘Great voice, great song.’)

Ryan most recently has been off the music scene putting together his new band and going into the studio to record his up and coming Debut Album. Cocooning himself in his musical dwellings with his band, Ryan is now pre-pairing to hit the music scene once again with a rake load of gigs coming your way starting with our very own Summer Showcase on the 19th July@The Voodoo Lounge.

'TouchWood' are a band hailing from Dublin/Wexford comprised of Sam Ali on vocals and piano, Mark Caplice (Cappy) on guitar and brothers Bryan Fleming on lead guitar and Michael Fleming on drums and percussion. TouchWood have just released their debut EP, Elysian Plains this April 26th to a sold out crowd in Whelans Main venue, it has already shown that 2013 is set to be a very exciting year for the Irish rising stars. In 2011 TouchWood rocked one of Europe's biggest festivals - ''Oxegen'' and in the same year they were invited to perform at the ''Other Voices Trail'' in Dingle.

Having previously shared a stage with Kodaline, The Coronas and Aslan - 2012 saw them join acts such as Ryan Sheridan and evergreen Jools Holland at Westport House Festival.

TouchWood through their relentless work ethic, clever song-writing and scintillating live-performances are determined to establish a firm footprint in the international music industry.

'Empire Circus' are a four piece Alt Pop outfit who have tapped into the panache of Two Door Cinema Club, the demeanour of Arcade Fire and the general cool suave of Gorillaz… then morphed out at the other side with a resonant sound under the guise of Empire Circus.

Having lived and played music full time in the USA together for 7 years, they returned to Ireland in 2008 opened a Music School in South County Dublin -www.puremusic.ie. Then in the spring and summer of 2012 the band spent time writing, demoing and working feverishly on creating music. They wrote some songs. Actually they wrote lots of songs.

Some they really enjoyed playing, others... not so much. So they took the fun ones and went to a studio in Brooklyn and crafted an album of 12 tunes that made them want to sing, dance and get silly. This was all done under the influence of Producer/Engineer/Mixer; Bryce Goggin (Ramones, The Morning Glories, Antony and the Johnsons).

The first single ‘True Believer’ is due for release on April 26th with the album following in the summer. Empire Circus’ sound is all about the thrill in rhythm and melody. Their debut album, including songs such as ‘A Day in the Life of a Superhero’, ‘I Know Better’ and ‘All I Need’ will assuredly leave you powerless against the urge to get up, get crazy, dance and sing like you never have before.

Band statement: The Future (the end is nowhere in sight) We still have dreams of conquering the world and selling the t-shirt, but for now we will be bringing dodgy dance moves and above all, music that electrifies the soul.

Empire Circus’ self-titled debut album is set to make an appearance mid 2013.

'Color/Sound' COLOR//SOUND are a 4 piece band with a fresh outlook on songwriting and arrangement. With influences ranging from Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley to Explosions In The Sky and Radiohead, this band draws inspiration from all genres and combines them to create their own explosive sound. Oisin Furlong, Brendan McGlynn, Steven McCann and Ben Roe formed COLOR//SOUND in January 2012 at BIMM Dublin, school of music. The band have had a busy year having played alongside Villagers, Turn, Cathy Davey and others, securing a slot at Electric Picnic and playing venues such as The Button Factory, The Academy, Whelans and the Odessa, with one venue dubbing them

'The definition of up and coming'!

'Verona Riots' are a 5 piece band hailing from Dublin. Energetic, upbeat and anchored by strong vocal harmonies, Irish band Verona Riots release their debut album 'Live For The Moment' on April 20th 2013.

Regularly seen busking on the streets of Dublin these guys are gaining a steady following, constantly working on developing their live performances and bettering their sound . Playing venues such as 'The Workmans Club, Whelans, The Village' to name just a few which have lead them into becoming a band with the versatility of being able to adapt to their environment, be it busking or live venue gigs they will impress.

Tickets will be priced from a very reasonable €10.

Control Promotions sticking to their motto with this event, 'Providing music that matters to the people who care'.
