    Hi,

I bought a Monitor Audio VW8 sub off you guys a while back that's buzzing. I unplugged everything and  connected it to a wall socket. There's a faint buzz coming from inside the sub (when the green light is on).

Is this normal behaviour or does it need to be fixed?

    Thanks.

    Silvine,

many thanks for the post - all subs do make some small noise however it should not interfere with the music - the VW8 is no better or worse in this respect relative to its price ( as you can imagine as subs get more expensive they tend to be quieter and go louder!) it's generally just the actual transformer noise however it can also be cause by a poor mains which you can possibly improve by purchasing something like this: http://www.richersounds.com/product/mains-power-accessories/monster/hdp450/mons-hdp450 ( it will also protect and 'clean' the mains for your whole system.

However if you are worried or you think the noise is exceptional, no problem, just drop the unit back to us and we will send it to Monitor Audio to have them give it the once over against their reference sample,

    Thanks again,
