Finding work in Canada

    Hi,
    I'm looking into moving to Canada to find a job in Architectural Technology or work as an Architectural Technician. I've both of the degrees. Can anyone tell me how hard it is to find a job in those professions with no work experience, as I've only graduated from college. And what software should you be familiar with apart from the obvious Autocad and Revit. Any help would be appreciated.

    Where are you thinking of moving to? If you go one of the bigger cities you will have a good chance. I live in Toronto and there is a LOT of construction going on here.

    Yes CAD and Revit. If you know Revit I would play that up, a lot of offices are moving in that direction. Apart from that, Photoshop, InDesign and Sketchup would all be helpful, though probably not essential.

    Read an article the other day that an awful lot of jobs are gotten through networking, so get sending emails, it worked like a charm for me in Ireland and its even more important over there.

    Remember you are looking for the job, not the job looking for you, emailing and calling is best, set up meetings asking for advice and that you are new in town etc, they will help.
