I might need that soon I think. Thank you.

Again, I am not being horrible but can I ask why you need to wait. To be fair to your ex if you have blocked him from everything but text then you are giving him a signal that there is a chance you will get back together.

    Sorry again for being cruel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,050 ✭✭✭Daisy78

I'll see if my phone can do that.

    I don't know, I'm so confused.

New number. The only way you can deal with this is to cut contact completely, no emails, no texts or phone calls. It's harsh but its the only.thing that will work.

It's not that simple really. I never gave him any signal that we'd get back together.

But it is that simple, stop having contact with him, simples.

No it isn't. I can't switch my emotions off like a tap. I don't love him anymore but that doesn't mean that I don't want him to be happy.

You have to be logical though, and practical, ignore emotions. It's not good for either of you to keep going back and forth "take me back" "no" "please" "no" etc etc. You can't let emotions be an excuse for torturing yourself and giving yourself unnecessary grief.

I know that. This is a lot easier for people on the outside though. I'm in the middle and I don't know if I'm coming or going.

No-one's suggesting you should switch off your emotions. Just your accessibility.

It might seem cruel, but the longer he's able to contact you and get replies/reaction from you, the longer it'll take him (and you) to move on.

The friends contacting you thing is weird, and it kind of sounds like he's telling them things so that they'll tell you. If that's the case, then the best thing to do is not get sucked back in.

Obviously it's entirely up to you, we don't know him and we don't know the ins and outs of the situation. But if you're telling him no and he's not getting the message, then something has to change.

Yeah and some of us have been in that position too, how do you know what experience everyone giving advice has in this type of situation? People are trying to help you and offer advice on their experiences which they are in a position to give rationally as outsiders. You can't always give in to your emotions in life, you have to try to look at it from the outside and see what is the best thing to do for yourself. He's not your problem anymore, and he's only trying to manipulate you.

PP, it probably feels overwhelming with a lot of people who don't know you or your ex trying to help but it all seems very sound advice. Is there any member of his family you could contact and let them know you are worried and tell them about what is happening before fully cutting off contact? At least that way you might feel like someone responsible and close to him is keeping an eye and you mightn't feel as torn about walking away.

I could contact someone on Facebook but I have no phone numbers because I deleted them. My head is spinning. I just wasn't expecting this at all.

Guys, I hate to have to do this, but this is not Personal Issues.

Purple Pawprints, I'm trying to be cruel to be kind here. You are naturally going to get advice, it's human nature and there is a community here that want to help each other.

You don't appear to like the advice that other loungers give, so I am afraid I have to ask you not to post in the chat thread when you are facing these issues. If you do want advice I suggest you post in the Personal Issues forum.

If you have any queries on same, please ask them via PM only.

You are in a horrible position, I don't envy you at all. Personally, I think I would let one of his family know and then try and block his messages. Maybe talk to one of your close friends though and see what advice they have? They probably know the situation better than what we have picked up from your posts. Take care of yourself xx

I have a nice one from Models Own, I'll check the colour name when I'm home!

Work was so crap today. I hate doing Sundays. Seriously only the crazy/dopes people come out on Sunday.

I am between a six and a half and a seven in shoes. I find 6 1/2 slightly too small and a 7 too big. Actual had a bad fall down the stairs because of a size 7 shoes and ended up with broken ribs as a result.:(

    I'm a size 9 :o

I've not got a new pair of shoes in ages either, was bidding on stuff on ebay and didn't get 'em :( sads

I'm a size 8 in most shoes too. Apparently your feet can get bigger during pregnancy, I really hope that doesn't happen!

Wider. Due to the relaxing ligaments and the extra weight. They go back though. Don't worry. :)

Feck, I didn't know that ... yet another weird and wonderful thing to look forward to.

I've now lost almost 1.5 stone since I got pregnant (13 weeks in now) ... anyone who wants to lose weight should try getting knocked up, best diet ever! :o I'm seriously noticing the lack of extra padding on my arse these days when I sit down, though. The chairs all seem so hard now! :o

The colour is Copper Pot by Models Own. Might be a bit too orangey if you want bronze.

I am starving, think I'll order pizza. No food in the house!
