Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    UEFA have excluded Besiktas from this years Europa League

    Fenerbahçe are excluded from participating in the next three UEFA club
    competitions for which they would qualify, including the 2013/14 UEFA Champions
    League. The ban for the third season is deferred for a probationary period of
    five years.

    Steaua are not eligible to participate in one UEFA club competition for which
    the club would otherwise qualify. This sanction is deferred for a probationary
    period of five years.

    and for Financial reasons PAS Giannina FC and Panathinaikos FC have been excluded from this years competitions.

    would like to more about this.

    first teams to be kicked out of a marquee tournament for financial reasons???
    The UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), further to the investigation performed earlier this June and after the meeting of its adjudicatory chamber in Nyon, Switzerland, has taken decisions with regard to the two Greek clubs PAS Giannina FC and Panathinaikos FC.

    Nah theres been loads more. Malaga have already been excluded and a good few in the past.

    Derry as well had they qualified ina certain time frame would not have been allowed to take part.

    I thought they were ineligible as oppose to disqualified/banned

    What like last season when Derry were not allowed to compete in the Europa League and Bohs took there spot

    Same thing really isn't it?

    Although Derry were never involved in match fixing like some of the other clubs mentioned.

    It was financial.

    The Appeals body met and

    • Besiktas JK has had their appeal rejected. Consequently, Besiktas JK is not
    eligible to participate in the 2013/14 UEFA Europa League.

    • Fenerbahçe SK has had their appeal partially admitted. Consequently,
    Fenerbahçe SK is excluded from participating in the next two UEFA club
    competitions for which they would qualify, including the 2013/14 UEFA Champions
    League.
