Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Administration of Estates/Wills Donegal

    Hi Everyone,

My mother recently passed away after suffering for a long time from mental illness. Her affairs were not really in order. Long story short I would be grateful if someone could recommend a good solicitor who deals with administering estates. It a very complicated situation (aren't they always) with a lot of people out to line their pockets. I know it sounds like I am too but I'm honestly not. I just want to ensure that things are done fairly and above board. I'm living in Derry so would like a Southern based solicitor preferably based on Donegal. I've heard some horror stories about solicitors on golf courses striking deals to fleece their clients and as I've no experience in this area (thank God) I haven't a clue where to start. Any advice would be greatly received.

You could ask friends or family members to recommend reliable, honest solicitors.

If they can't help, perhaps your solicitor in Derry could recommend somebody.

Sorry for your loss. I would ring a few and have a chat, or look for recommendations fro other people. There are good ones out there and I'm sure a few would be willing to do a free consultation so you can see if you like them and are confident they can answer your questions. Someone who specialises in probate also

Thanks guys! unfortunately i'm not in a position to ask family as that's part of the problem. I'll follow up on the probate side of things. :-) thanks again.

Contact the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and get numbers of some members in the area you want.
