Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks,

In todays Sunday times it reports that in the US and Canada Bayer have payed out $1bn in compensation for do to the blood clotting side effect of their contraceptive pill Yasmin.

Does anyone know of any claims paid out in Ireland to those who have had blood clots while taking Yasmin?

    Thanks

On the courts website between 2010 and 2013 there are only 2 High Court cases listing Bayer as a defendant one case is next listed in November of this year. It may or may not have anything to do with Jasmin.

If you want more info search here you need at least two search terms http://highcourtsearch.courts.ie/hcslive/cslogin

Google the Statute of Limitations - there is a time limit from your knowledge of your condition to when you have to institute proceedings.

No it goes up for everyone . Smoking and being over weight all increases your risk. However, all things being equal being pregnant increases your risk of vte (dvt and pe) 5 times more than just Yasmin.

Maybe your case should be you should not have been on Yasmin but rather depo provera etc. ?

I had been on and off it for years with no prob and different types of the pill / mirena etc. I was at my lightest weight ever, was training for triathlons was extremely fit. There was no reason why I should not have been on it. I don't have a case I'm just wondering if it has happened to anyone else in Ireland ?
