In my 30ish few years plus a few (ahem more) I've never ever experienced heat like today and I love the heat. Wow what a day, my station has a screen on it but it's not totally shaded, still and all from now on today shall be known as "THE DAY OF MELT"

Lovely cool night. 11 straight days now with zero measurable rainfall and the one before then I only measured 0.2mm. Hosepipe bans etc must be imminent.

Yes, all looking very...Spain! Grass verges here looking particularly yellow/brown/burnt. Even saw the locol authority (DLRCC) out yesterdey with a tanker watering young trees near where I live.

Just hit 24.0c here now despite only breif/watery sunny spells so far this morning.

Must be starting to get more of a significant UHI effect here now (compared to Dublin AP or Casement) given that the ground is bone dry and concrete/tarmac well warmed up at this stage.

Smoke lasted about half an hour. No sign of any fire nearby so may have come all the way from Howth.

Heavy rain shower here just now east of Tuam, it was 29C half an hour ago, you can nearly see the grass quenching it's thirst.

New station record here, 25.8 C at 1850 in a light NE sea breeze, utterly amazing, we are just 1.5km from the coast. Too hot, I think i'd melt if I was further inland getting close to 30C!!

How long is the station active?

Just up the hill from you I've broken that three times this month (but today only made 25.7C )...and the record here is 28.4C (1995).
