Are the timings for Games with Gold announcements always so vague? I haven't had the Xbox long, but looking back on the thread:

October 28 for November games.
November 24 for both December games.
December 21 for the January games.

That seems terribly random! Whereas the Deals with Gold seem a lot more defined.

Well Deals with Gold is always a Tuesday.

Someone said here before that the GwG announcements is always on the last Thursday of the month, thats gone to hell lately, it literally could be any time in the last 2 weeks of the month.

It tends to be just after it leaks. Someone on twitter/reddit leaks the games and Major Nelson quickly announces them.

Since the backwards compatibility came in, I have a huge backlog of games:
2 Rainbow Six's that came with Rainbow 6 Siege
Fallout 3 that came with Fallout 4
Deus Ex
The Witcher 2

Really looks like Hand of Fate could be one of the XBOX One titles next month.
I was waiting to get it in a sale, so if this is true and its free. Thats a win for me.

I honestly dont know what it is. It only appears for the backwards compatible stuff. Says I should get it off the app!

Is it an authorisation request?

Always asks me for them when I use browsers in work, download the Microsoft Account app to your phone - it sends a little verification request each time you try to access account details/make purchases and you just tap approve on your phone.

Thats an auth request to prove you are who you say you are. It sends a mail, sends a text or uses an app to auth.

Styx is pretty good, got it on sale ages ago. Decent stealth game with some good level design.

All the games with gold are bc from last November(I think, around then anyway) onwards. Definitely a great game.

Is it just a case of its inevitable that it will be a GWG at some point so no one wants to buy it. Is the game any good, or is it something that people would only play if it was free?

It's a decent game, but because it was pretty poorly received/didn't sell very well it's one that was expected to be GwG from pretty much the first month GwG was announced - and has become a bit of a running joke now.

I actually quite enjoyed it. If you can get it <€15 it's worth a look.

(Although it just HAS to be coming on GwG soon :pac:)

It's very shallow gameplay wise but it's quite enjoyable. Plus, it looks stunning. I've a soft spot for it as it was the first game I played on Xbox One.

(I know this is last month but anyway) I started playing deus ex today, I like the game, but walking around just feels so... Clunky, it feels very awkward with the three second dash thing too. I am still enjoying it but its sort of annoying me and I dont know if I'll bother finishing the game

Once you unlock and enhance your abilities while making progress with the story you won't look back.

Styx: Master of Shadows is fun if a bit difficult and glitchy.
Was stealth killing a guard only to have his body pop through a wall and alert enemies in the next room.
Still fun though.

Like a simplified blend of Hitman and Splinter Cell in a fantasy setting, geared more towards stealth like the older versions of each series.
