Nothing against the "Country", just ugly counties.
Dublin is spectacular alright  Define " Country"?

How about a few XC races? Hard racing, Fun to run and times irrelevant.

    Just like Limerick :P

I too would suggest XC Dave. Good, honest racing...no where to hide, you just have to go hard and cling on for dear life.

I didn't mean the scenery. Meant the people :)

XC could be good. Would need to join a running club thought to get the good races though.

I've yet to see an XC race advertised. There's a whole lot of cloak and dagger stuff going on in the arrangement of these. ;)

Anyways got out on the bike at the weekend, wasn't on the plan but felt a need to go. 0530 rolling out towards Naul, lights on and a strange relaxing feel to the fog and the only other people on the roads being taxi men and future shame walkers.

By Ballyboughal I'd an idea that this was a no chain day. By Naul I was fairly sure. Arriving home I was chuffed I'd gotten out. I'd forgotten how calming it was to ride your bike between dawn and sunrise.

Then off to Na Fianna for Aoibhe's first GAA training session. Managed to get talked into being a helper for the sessions, so 90 minutes of organised chaos later I was proper wrecked.

I also had a pacey run to do on Friday. Done and the times were as expected but something clicked, I remembered how to run, well when I say remembered the muscle memory came back - the right muscles firing in the right order. First time I have ever felt that way running while over 11.5 stone, never mind present weight of over 12 stone.

Half marathon this weekend. Tango doing it, and possibly short-ar$e, should be a laugh, under 90 minutes and happy.

I shall be on the sideline screaming at Ryan to defend, shoot, score..... generally one of those annoying parents you see at a footie match.

Oh pacing the marathon, had forgotten about that!

New baby arriving soon and as things do we talked about the arrival of the others.

On Aoibhe, nearly five, Glenda's waters broke early in the morning and we went to hospital nothing much was happening so we were sent home.

Sitting around waiting for things to get going Glenda was bouncing up and down on a gym ball in the kitchen and I said "well I've an hours turbo to do" and then did 60 minute interval session. Strange how things change but nothing does.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience

I'm staying off that other board.

    Half marathon Saturday.
I'm not in the shape I wanted to be in but I know 1:30 should be doable.
Question is how much to I want to gamble and how much do I think I could suffer for 21km.

If I get around in 1:29:59 I'm not arsed even entering the marathon.
Again not done the running for it so may not enter it anyways.
