I love the old style look of the building.

The building looks very nice. Can't really understand the rugby museum with Thomond park already having one. Have a feeling it's going to just be a big casino down the line as that is where timeout will be situated. The restaurant will be a nice addition but that side of town isn't really known for a place to go for a meal.

Hopefully if it attracts enough people to the area it will force the gardai to be a bit stricter with the winos and homeless people that hang around.

Thought it was going to be the Limerick Sports Museum?

Is it not going to be some form of gambling emporium though ?

The owner has all the stuff from Johnny Brennans old museum. He was supposed to be opening the museum years ago before Thomond Pk was redeveloped, but instead its all been in storage all that time.
Some great stuff in that collection as well.

Passed it today it looks lovely. That side of town could do with cleaning up. Would be great to have a nice coffee shop/restaurant across from the station. It will be interesting to see how it develops

I noticed it coming out of the station as it completely changes that section of the streetscape. It's a fantastic looking structure because it has that old ornate elegant look to it instead of the glassy souless modern stuff that is usually thrown up. It would be great if an ugly buliding like Brown Thomas on O'Connell street could implement the design of a similar type building to revamp what currently stands as this new building is definitely one of the nicest new buildings I've seen in Limerick in a long time.

I get the feeling it will start out as a few things and down the line just become a casino. Probably easier to get planning permission. Only time will tell I suppose.

Looks a bit Disney Studios imho ,

I can't see myself going for an Italian meal in the court yard of a now even larger shady casino.

    Casino + Parnell Street...............

I don't really care what it looks like to be honest. I wouldn't walk or park on that street. I hate the street.

Massive boost not only to the Parnell St area but to Limerick City as a whole. And finally people coming and going from the station will be greeted with a safe, well lit street. First impressions last.

If true then yes, a new casino/arcade is going to be a great first impression for visitors just out of the train station. Maybe we can get a cash for gold shop or two to open next door so gamblers don't have far to walk to pawn their jewellery.

No idea to be honest, never up that way that often.

Live on Barrington street myself so am at the opposite side of the park thankfully. Have to say though, Parnell street is a frickin dive. Between Annie Fitz, the pawn shops, the casino and scumbags....its skid row.

One nice buidling isn't going to do much, you'd need to carpet bomb the whole street and rebuild from scratch.

That's unfair , a fine street and home to the best fish and chips in limerick in luigis

The building looks good, buy it is build on our people hard earned money.
Lot of people spent thousands with little chance to win in Casino.
Payout percentage not 94%, It various from 0 to 30%.

+1...lol, Annie Fitz....her and another crew of junkies, winos and general dossers and scumbags always on the eye out for a few quid or some poor sod just off the train.

Parnell is ruined by just them alone....but its more then that, the whole street needs a massive investment a garda presence!

Can't see any Casino lasting more than 24 hours with a 0% payout percentage.
Most of them are in the low 80's according to a few friends who supply slot machines etc.
Don't gamble myself BTW so no real bias for or against any Casino.
