Simple Apple tv style remote for HTPC?

I am currently getting a Raspberry pi setup for my father and was going to use the same remote i use at home... the VRC-1100 remote:



But would like to keep it simple for my dad - less buttons = less phone calls on how to get back to the last menu sort of queries, so does anyone know of an apple tv style remote (simple and foolproof) that can be got for a HTPC?

Dunno about the remote handset but with this receiver any remote you already have would do .....

EDIT: I did not make it clear ...... you need only make a few buttons active on any remote so pressing other buttons have no effect ..... making a simple remote from an old multibutton remote.

You could always use an apple remote with a ir receiver connected to the gpio ports on the pi. You'd have to run some software to detect the ir scancodes used, but it isn't all that hard.
