    Hey all,

    Looking on behalf of a Swedish work mate. Seems it's great for roasting and BBQ's.

    He calls it the "pork neck", and it looks like this;

    Seems it's located behind the pigs ears.

    I'm wondering if perhaps it's called something differently over here, as when he got the pork neck here, he was shown a lump of goo/gel.

    Maybe try asking for a Collar of pork.

    My mother has been buying this for years in the English market in Cork, I'm not sure which butcher exactly but it wouldn't be hard to find. Apparently it is extremely popular with Polish customers, it is a beautiful piece of meat, my mother cooks it as she would a loin of pork and it is extremely tender and lovely and moist. She has always referred to it as Pork neck, talk to your butcher or if you live near a city find one who specialises in Pork products.

    I buy it all the time when I'm making pulled pork, it's a great cut for slow cooking. The butcher in my local supermarket has it regularly and it's labelled Pork Neck.

    Pork neck fillet is what he needs to ask for...any butcher getting in sides of pork would have it. Great on the bbq when cut thin

    My friend doesn't have a car, so where abouts in Dublin is this supermarket, and what bus goes past it?

    I've ordered pork neck from Hicks http://www.hicks.ie/ and collected it from their stall at the Temple Bar market on Saturday mornings.

    It's a cut for long slow cooking though, not sure about roasing or BBQ so might not be what he's looking for but Hicks are really helpful so perhaps he can ask them.

    It's in Swords in the north county and it's JC's supermarket. It might be a bit of a trek for your friend unless he's already on the north side. I'd go through the phone book and call a few butchers to ask if they supply it. Most butchers will order in if you give them a few days' notice.
