Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

BMW Shudder/Chucky at 2400 RPM

    Hi all,

I have a 2004 E46 320d for past 2 yrs and most of the time have noticed a rough chucky feeling when I hold the revs at a particular point. Started off at 2200 rpm and gradually got lower. Down to about 1800 rpm. Didn't matter what gear I was in. It got annoying on the motorway because 80mph is about the point it becomes noticeable.. Firstly I'm no expert nor a mechanic but I searched around and decided to try the air flow meter. Took it out and cleaned it and this improved things slightly. So I left it and though this was the problem. I finally bought a new air flow meter ( a painful €350)thinking it would be the answer. Fitted it and was disappointed. Car sounds better but the chucky/shudder in engine is still there but moved to about 2400rpm. Someone described it as feathering the engine at a particular speed. It's fine either side of it but if you hold a rev at a particular speed it's there.

I would appreciate some advice if anyone else had the same problem. And a solution would be great.
