Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hooking a Sony Sound bar up to an existing Amp

    Morning all.

I have an AV receiver in the house, a Pioneer VX something or other... Bought it a couple years back and used it for a good while... but it ended up getting "mothballed" and hasn't been used in a year or so... It has since been replaced with a Sony Sound bar (not use the model, but it has 3 HDMI in, some component/composite and an Optical link too).

To make a long story boring, i am thinking of hooking my devices up to the Amp (XBox, PS3, Media Center, etc) and running video directly to the TV. but instead of getting extra speakers (the main reason i got the sound bar was a single front speaker and a sub) i would like to use the Sony for sound output...

So, my question is: Anyone tried hooking a soundbar up to a AV receiver? Any recomendations on how i would do this?

my thought was to use the optical link from the back of the receiver to the sound bar... bit of a work around, i know, but anyone see a problem with this?

    Thanks.
