Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My van has a knocking noise

and I think I may have eventually found the culprit.

I just want to make sure. 99 Vanette and have changed a few suspension and steering parts over the last few months. Drop links, track rod ends and anti-roll bar bushings and the knock still remains. I thought this knocking was the ball joints but they seem to be in good nick.

So today I stuck my head under the bonnet and spotted the lower UJ on the steering shaft. It was exposed and completely dry and I gave it a pull and there is a bit of play in it. Needs replacing.

Would this cause the slight knock that I can feel in the footwell while driving? It doesn't necceseraly knock going over bumps or on uneven surfaces and I cant really feel it through the steering wheel. I can be driving on the flattest, smoothest surface there is and I'd hear/feel it through the floor mainly.

Also, should there be some sort of boot over the UJ?

    Cheers lads.
