Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Long story short five large trees that were in my garden, can anybody suggest a means of disposing the trunks and branches.

The trees were large evergreens and I think my only options are:

    Get some skips - v v v costly.
Get a tree shredder - no idea where to get one or how much or if it will do the job?

    Help much appreciated!

could you not use them as firewood i have used evergreens before for firewood just chop them up and let them dry out in a shed and they should burn come the winter

if the wood is cut up into 6 inch lengths it would be no problem to get rid of it once you start asking round and offering for free, but inform punters that it is unseasoned wood and wont be usable this year. You can go down to branches of maby 2-3 inches to dispose of in this manner.

As regards the rest a decent shredder/chipper (not a toy one!!!) would get whats left down to about a tenth of the volume. Make sure you can get the shredder into the garden before renting. Wear ear protection as the shredder will deafen you otherwise.

After composting for 6 months could be spread around the garden or immediatly you could put back where the trees were removed from to act as a mulch for the new plantings, make sure mulch dosnt touch new plants. A board could be used to hold this mulch in place.

Hi, I'm in Terenure so might be interested. Could you give an idea on the dimensions, thickness, length? Or stick up a pic?

    Cheers
