Could I ask you what you propose for those that dint want to work? who's only contribution is to hold their hand out? pay them the same rate long term as those that have been made redundant, possibly paid in tens if not hundreds of thousands and be "entitled" to the same welfare rates, state pension etc?

How many of these people are there that actually never want to work,
i hear this all the time you would think that 375,000 of the 400,000 were people who never want to work, but still lets put them altogether and treat them all the same even the people who are doing all they can to find work.
there will always be people like this boom time or not, but every working person is more concerned about them, then the people genuinely looking for work.i really dont care about these people, they must lead very sad lives,
as long as people who want to work get full time jobs one day, thats all i care about.

surely though there is a minimum you should be getting though?? I mean why would anyone want to work 35 hours a week for 110?

Some people are fed up sitting at home and want to get out and do work, strangely enough not all the people on the dole are happy to just sit on their arses doing nothing all day. One of the interns I was mentoring was getting €238 a week and was quite happy with that, he was only working 32 hours a week as well and had no means taken out of his payment, so it suited him, of course everyone is not in that situation and people are getting far less for longer hours.

The number of people who "don't want to work" are in the EXTREME minority.

It's only fuckheads without a clue and mired in petty bitterness that think there is a substantial proportion of the unemployed who are avoiding work.

what about extra travelling expenses as well?for us it wouldn't help at all.we have one car and do 2 school runs,1 in the morning and one in the afternoon,we have no friends or family to help out so how would we be expected to do it?

Most people on the dole don't need to be forced, we do all this anyway.
all we want is full time paid jobs ,much like yourself.

yes but if you are claiming a full dole of 188 a week + 50 at least u feel like you are earning something. 238 a week.

but to work 35 hours a week for €110 doesn't sit well

It's a bit hard to listen to you tell others to do something you wouldn't like yourself.

And from this position you think others should work for free to keep your costs down.

If firms don't have to pay labour they can keep their costs down so the likes of you pay less for their services.

Basic stuff really. I'm no finacial wizard tho.

You'd clean cars 45 minutes commute away for 40 hours a week and no chance of being kept on after 9 months? Each to his own i guess.

I think you might have different views then.

I also have never claimed SW either but I can see the injustice in this.
