Very calm in south Dublin, obviously the "calm before the storm"

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,197 ✭✭✭pad199207

It was right overhead. I think the last one struck on the Killcullen Road. None since.

Really kicking off in Cork judging by the netweather detector. Some massive flashes here in Kildare i think i captured it all just going to check.

I hate to be a pedant / grammar nazi, I really do. But lightning must rank as one of the most frequently miss-spelled words of all time. /grammar nazi

anyway, waiting up a little while and giving mech1s' ATC feed a listen. Brilliant quality audio and well worth listening to during bad weather.

That storm east of Cork City looks really impressive.

I presume the red in this is the lightning? I hope the red over cork comes across the south east.

Bout time I caught some action. Last strike in Naas was only a few hundred metres away from me. Several alarms went off due to the thunder.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,414 ✭✭✭Trebor176

    Well, that was disappointing!

Damn. Where I am, I haven't seen any flashes near Montenotte. Doesn't help that there is a HUGE house beside me when I look east.:P

anymore for arklow? dead calm at the moment

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,027 ✭✭✭MidMan25

In east cork, have seen about 15 flashes in the past half an hour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,134 ✭✭✭✭maquiladora

Reaching from the coast as far north as Mitchelstown now and seems to be still growing.

Yeah, not a patch on 1985, but that was extreme.

That storm east of Cork City looks really impressive.

About 5 or 6 flashes and loud bangs here in Carrigtwohill.
Got one on video but will have to wait to upload it.
Its rumbling towards Cork City again.
