Just heard another plane take off there...unless its an aborted landing???

  • Registered Users Posts: 203 ✭✭Tornando9

There would have been some flooding in the city if that had set up directly over it instead of a few km to the east.
Latest loop on netweather shows it intensifying slightly again and its practically stationary it would have been a disaster.

Why have a go if theres doubt of not making it

There will be a decision altitude not 100% what the altitude is, but if winds start gusting before this altitude they will make the decision to go around.

Generally, it is to get a feel when conditions are uncertain.

Nope, another normal departure. You guys should take a look in the Aviation & Aircraft forum, really interesting stuff in there!

Gone quiet again here. Think I will go to bed.

Watching FlightRadar24, looks like EIN565 just landed and is taxiing OK.

edit: there's another flight, Ryanair FR8012 from Warsaw, heading in from the Irish Sea.

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.

Yep, she got down safely. Interesting looking at the flight path it took. Came in very wide to avoid the CBs vs. it's normal approach.

Another couple of flashes just now.

Okay its starting up again here at drumcondra train station, a nice burst of lightning AMD a kind of constant low frequency rumble, like the sound of a trick engine idle

wow, still having big rumbles of thunder.

My daughter and I had a cup of tea with the back door open, just watching it all, listening to the rain, was so beautiful after the warm weather we've have. peaceful despite the thunder :) great for the gardens and farms.

The rain seems to have picked up again by croke park. Looks as though the road outside is getting fairly flooded too.
