12.9mm of rain fell at Dublin airport between midnight and 0100.

The camera went into slow motion after that lightening flash.

I *think* I heard some rumbling in the distance. Guess I'll find out :)

Has there been much flooding in Dublin? Just saw the few snaps on Broadsheet, more concerned about the grandmother in Fairview.

    Anyone?

Brilliant flash over the Cooley mountains 5 minutes ago. Looks like the rest of the stuff moving north is going to just miss Dundalk unfortunately.

Some minor flooding just off the north circular road earlier, but it seems to have died down.

I rang 999 to report some flooding in Dublin city and was directed to the fire brigade who took the call and noted my address- I hope I'm not going to get a feckin' €500 bill for this now! :(

Note to self. Shut up when recording.

Brilliant stuff Oscar Mike! You lucky (insert word) you've got some great stills in that video :D

Although I think you might have ripped your dress at 1:09 :p

Great stuff, Oscar Mike. Some great action there, but 2:20 is epic!

  • Registered Users Posts: 84 ✭✭Gisty

What time was this at Oscar Mike?

  • Registered Users Posts: 84 ✭✭Gisty

Ah, right. Thought it was more recent than that. There's a blob on the weather radar I have open in and around Kilkenny that's heading sort of in the direction of Dublin, I was hoping for more fun and games.

Nice line of showers through the midlands. Not seeing any strikes though.

I posted earlier, couple of distant rumbles, then torrential rain about an hour later. The Vantage Vue was in alarm mode because of the intensity of the rain, then it cleared. Drought well and truly a memory now!

Northern parts look like having the best chance of thunderstorms today, a more scattered/isolated risk elsewhere.

And a chance of funnel clouds/weak tornados in northern counties. Have your cameras ready just in case. :p

New cells have just popped up just west of Carlow town and another biggish one just west of Naas, stretching up to the Stretford End of Prosperous

Yeah saw that. Just as the main band of shower activity was fizzling out another line appears to be cracking into life north of it.
