Mad rain again here in Trim, some more fireworks also. Roads will be flooded if we get any more of this.

Well that sounds about right. I went east today so it would be typical for me to miss a storm at home:mad:.

Was that today ? We are leading a charmed life here. Storms to west and east of us for majority of the day. Avoided us again :)

Today around 3pm there was a few rumbles over the City so I went chasing the cell, it was pitch dark there was one very bright fork with instant thunder

Nice (short) timelapse video of rain in Limerick by David Hunt. If you're into photography check out his other vids, some great stuff...

Looks like the northern half of the country will have the best chance of any action tomorrow, models have showers pushing in from the west from early morning.

Good thundery potential for the week ahead as well with another Spanish Plume event forecast, as usual Northern France will probably get all the action but if we can tap into the plume then potential is there

bah :( all the cloud and nasty showers we had today gave us nothing :( they just got more intense the further inland they went.

Siobhan looked great with the lightning animation behind her on the 9 o'c forecast!

not much here today either other than mostly rain and warm sunny spells, there were some rumbles around between 5 and 6 but the thunderstorms were mostly forming just west of me and north.

Got caught in what can only really be described as a monsoon in the cc today. Was quite romantic running through town with Mr H2U to the pictures - this romance did tend to wear off as we're sitting in the film, soaking wet from the thighs down, socks off over the back of the chair in front.!

UKASF forecast for tomorrow : A slight risk overall with a moderate risk for the northeast of the island.

    iN4F70B.jpg
The approach of the jet and exiting of the upper trough is likely to lead to reduced lightning chances across W/SW Ireland through the afternoon, and SW England by late afternoon/early evening - hence it is questionable whether to include these areas in a SLGT given the reduced instability during peak period for daytime heating. However, have kept the SLGT here for the possibility of showers during the morning and early afternoon turning locally thundery.

18Z GFS shows something similar, a slight risk for the east in general with a better chance in the northeast tomorrow afternoon :

Was heading from Tuam towards Gort and got caught in a huge downpour before Clarinbridge. There was no indication of it ahead apart from cars with wipers and the next thing ya hear is the rain pounding off the car. Was scary for a learner driver. :o
It disappeared in an instant on the far side of Clarinbridge.

Was lightning and thunder outside Gort too.

Captured this at my home near Limerick city this Sunday afternoon. Captured 4 flashes with my camera rolling. Also covered some torrential rain on my phone. The video is HD quality. Heard more thunder at around Teatime.

Estofex forecast for Monday, same as today except the south isn't included in the 50% area.
