Dull and miserable now in Galway. At least it's dried up a little for ladies day. All that effort to end up looking like a soggie dog!!

Indo would say 'Galway skirts near miss to be Ireland's Oklahoma, as sea-tornado with a No.1 on the Fujitsu scale causes carnage for fish'

    Wiki
Various types of tornadoes include the landspout, multiple vortex tornado, and waterspout. Waterspouts are characterized by a spiraling funnel-shaped wind current, connecting to a large cumulus or cumulonimbus cloud. They are generally classified as non-supercellular tornadoes that develop over bodies of water, but there is disagreement over whether to classify them as true tornadoes.

Today was a typical example of how inaccurate Met Eireann forecasting can be.
Very few of the elements for thunderstorms were there
Of course as would be the norm the beeb were having none of it
    As per usual miles ahead.......

Right you've made this point numerous times, even though it is totally false, Estofex don't issue severe thunderstorm warnings on a whim. Also Met Eireann forecaster don't just make it up. The Beep don't forecast for the ROI as you know.

The ingredients were there and still are, we have just yet to see ignition. Perhaps we will perhaps we won't.

The section just around the waterspout is the part that has been copied and blended into the photo.

Totally impartial here but I just opened both images in PS, super imposed them and the central waterspout, cloud etc are an exact match
It's very easy to blend away what you don't want

Make of it what you will

Yep, some flashes, a few rumbles and very heavy downpour west of Louisburgh in the last ten minutes
