At last some weather. While the last few weeks have been very pleasant, my god has it been boring!

Was just watching it from the pro here in Tramore, fantastic stuff over brownstown head, fork lightning but no thunder.

Was a nice light show never the less!

Does a lighting flash not always make noise, ie thunder ?

There is still thunder... it's just too far away to be heard!

Not always, a very rare event though if it is the case.

There looks to be a few sparks in the north Kildare/south Meath area? http://andvari.vedur.is/athuganir/eldingar/i_dag_na.html Any reports?

Risk of thunder was in the ME forecast this morning.

I was in the north Kildare/south Meath area this morning and heard nothing. There was some heavyish rain between 09:00 and 09:30 but nothing that would suggest anything thundery. Looking at the radar on net weather, there was nothing of note there either. Perhaps false returns?
