Woah! Epic lightning and thunder right over the city.

Max Rainfall rate of 60mm/hr was recorded at my station at 23.45.

I'm in Taiwan on holidays so missed this but rain wise a Max Rainfall rate of 60mm/hr was recorded at my station at 23.45.

    Thinly veiled as

A few sferics being plotted in the midlands now on Eldingar. Just looked at the weather radar and can see why. Some fairly big rain systems pushing up from teh S/SE. Looks like Athlone is under water.

Nice cell heading for Wicklow and Dublin. May produce lightning.

Yeah, looking nasty alright. In the office in D8 for the next while but the shutters are down so won't see anything. Rain is just beginning though as I was just outside

Cork got off lightly given the threat potential. I've 32mm/h rain rate and 5mm in one hour but only 8mm in 24 hours.

Still feeling fairly muggy out. I wouldn't rule out a night time lightning action.
