I've been enjoying looking at demos of the Roland synths over the last couple of weeks, but I do wonder if I got one would it just end up being an expensive toy rather than something I could gig regularly.
A lot of the midi sounds dont tempt me (strings, percussion, etc), but the ability to get a decent acoustic sound from an electric does, as does the ability to change tuning to DADGAD, Dropped D etc at the flick of a button. Having these would save me bringing several guitars to a gig!

Does anyone here use one? Do they work as good as the demos suggest?

(I've got my eye on a Godin guitar, so this type of thing may be a possibility down the line for me)

The new Fishman triple play looks pretty interesting. I've been thinking about picking that up. It's supposed to track really well.

I'm really considering getting one of these for Bass. Unfortunately haven't had the opportunity to demo one yet, but judging from the reviews I've seen online, I reckon I'd get along just fine with it. Would definitely use it in a live setting, it'd be perfect for what my band are doing.

I've the Triple Play and it very useful. I use it to trigger synths in Delorean, an 80s tribute band.

This is a montage I recorded with it recently.

I've also got Jam Origin's Midi Guitar Software which is also showing great promise - polyphonic midi guitar from your guitar's own pickup! Worth a look. If they get it as good as a pick up I'll gig it!
