Synster i got like that aroun 11 weeks. I had been sick tge odd day here or there but then kept getting sick numerous times a day and just felt so exhausted and horrible. So went to gp and turned out i had a kidney infection.

ouch.. I usually pee non stop like 200 times a day when I have one..
I'm really prone to them and without been pregnant could take 2 months to get rid..

been feeling strong flutters the last few days I felt them early on first time round too so not so much a shock this time, sure was only 5 months ago DS was kicking my ribs

Sitting watching xfactor and feeling strong movement. So strong that for tge first time this pregnancy OH got to feel a little movement.
Love seeing his face. Even though we've been through this all before still such a wonderful feeling :-)

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭firsttimemammy

Wow!! That's amazing that so many of you are starting to feel movement!

With this being my first, I'm not expecting anything for at least another 4 weeks anyway.

Feeling rotten the last 2 days. I thought on this approach to 14 weeks I'd be feeling a bit of improvement, but no such luck. Had a couple of good days there on Friday and Saturday, but then paid for it yesterday and today. I've to stay in work until 6 this evening, and all I want to do is curl up under the desk and go to sleep.....

My hormones are gone mad. Everything is making me really angry!

Especially the lack of lemon gaviscon in the universe. It's now poxy Sicky strawberry only available. Or Manky Mint. Grr.

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭firsttimemammy

You can get lemon Gaviscon? You learn something new every day.

I hear ya on the bad mood hormones!! I was a demon last week! It reminded me of the early days of this pregnancy when I would nearly burst with anger and then burst into tears instead!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 324 ✭✭LH2013

I can not sleep anymore grrrrr can not get comfortable :(:( so now I am wrecked !!!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,948 ✭✭✭Sligo1

+ 1 on the hormones! I usually bad enough as it is... But now I'm like psycho woman from hell! I'm getting really angry at everything and I'd usually be pretty tolerant (well so I like to think).

Lh2013... I was finding it really hard to sleep at night a month or so ago. Was waking up at like 4am and unable to get back to sleep till 6am. But thank god that's settled now (touch wood!).

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭Suucee

Not too bad with hormones i think.
Have to go to the dentist tomorrow. Few months ago got a filling . He wanted to pull it but i wouldnt let him. Now its come real loose and so sore . Cant chew anything. Hoping it wont need to cone out. Last pregnancy had to get a filling also and was so sick aftr the anestetic so dreading it. But been putting it off for weeks.

Yep i also wake every night. Go to bed at around 9.30 read for a bit but fall asleep quick. Then wake for the loo and could be awake for 2 hours some nights. Tried going to bed later and i was even worse the next day as had less sleep, tried reading when i wake, even tried not looking at the time but no joy. May get used to it i suppose as the bigger i get the less sleep ill get.

Maybe try a pregnancy pillow or a foam mattress topper LH2013?

I couldn't sleep at all for my 2010/2011 pregnancy, got the pillow and foam thing for this one and I'm grand so far. much more comfortable. I only wake for loo breaks now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,251 ✭✭✭cyning

Not much sleep here either. I don't think I can articulate how awfully horribly uncomfortable pregnancy makes me. I would definitely get a pregnancy pillow and the more pillows the better I think. It does help. I had a memory foam mattress for last pregnancy but have it changed now and I think I prefer the firmer mattress. I could change my mind by tomorrow though ;)

    Hi Ladies,

Just felt like a small moan. I am so tired and emotional, the slightest thing is setting me off these days and I am just wondering how long this is likely to last? I am almost 15 weeks gone now and starting to worry that I'll end up crying in someone's face in work or worse, shouting at them for no reason at the slightest little thing :-(

Those were my exact feelings the whole way through my first pregnancy! This one I'm not as bad... But I think it will start up in the 3rd trimester. I cried at everything last time!

Have the most horrible headaches the last 3 mornings waking up. And I got one right now :(.

  • Registered Users Posts: 53 ✭✭moominn

Sligo I sympathise with the headaches, ive been suffering with them from the start and I wouldnt normally get headaches. Nothing seems to help them:mad:

O they're jut horrible! I haven't been able to sleep with mine and no panadol in the house. Hubby's just had to go out to get some for me and its 2.30am :(. Its pounding soooo bad. I hope I get some sleep tonight. And my poor fella too!

Hey guys, just spotted this grabone maternity shop voucher. It's a shop in cork but they have an online shop as well.

    http://www.grabone.ie/cork/beautiful-bumps

Had my 16/17 week GP checkup today. All good. Doppler wouldn't work yet, too early. And I forgot to ask about the flu vaccine. 3 weeks to the 20 week hospital visit anyway, so I'll try to remember then.

I got a letter offering me a spot in the midwife clinic, so I must suss out what the story is there as well. Do you get scans, what the difference is etc. It's still in the hospital, just a different queue as far as I can see.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,251 ✭✭✭cyning

No flu vaccine for me... Or iron unless absolutely necessary. I have problems absorbing tablets so my endo has said no to it.

I'm really hoping that my appts go as smoothly this time as last: was in and out with a scan at every appt in less than an hour. Advantage of being high risk :) I knew there was an advantage somewhere!

Really must go maternity clothes shopping. I've lost so much weight and everything looks like crap on me: I do have a nice bump though!

When does the Doppler pick up baby's heartbeat?

  • Registered Users Posts: 324 ✭✭LH2013

The hospital said I had to visit docs for check up every 4 weeks ... They have a nurse/ midwife in my docs - thinking I might just go to her instead ?! Is there a need to see my actual GP ?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,449 ✭✭✭✭pwurple

I think the doppler sometimes can pick it up from 14/15 weeks, but my GP knows my miscarriage history, so doesn't want to freak me out in case she couldn't find it I'd say.

Is the check up every 4 weeks now or after 20 weeks? I don't know I had a different GP for last pregnancy so he had no nurse so it was him or no one. Aside from my specialist I'm avoiding doctors like the plague I'll see them enough I'm sure :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭Suucee

Doctors are avoiding me. Still no sign of my hospital booking appointment at 15 weeks. Contacted the hospital and they are looking in to it.

I survived the dentist he gave me a temporary filling as i didnt want to get an extraction while pregnant. ( well not at all). Was like opening a can of worms. Need a few bits done.
Im shocking for avoiding the dentist.

In work yesterday commented that there must not be much between myself and another colleuge. I was raging. Shes 33 weeks im 15 . 2nd child though is my excuse.

Jeez succee what a mess. You've missed the 12 week dating scan now. Pfft.

Don't mind those eejits at work. There's a girl 4 weeks ahead of me at work, but she spent the first three months losing weight puking, while I was ravenous and put on 3kg. She isn't even in maternity gear yet at 21 weeks and still feels really rubbish and quesy. Where I am grand, in the stretchy pants, cos nothing else fits! We all carry differently too. It's not a competition, and besides, nothing you can do about it. Some plank made a similar comment to me about being surprised that girl was due a month before me and I said, "jeez, You must think I'm a right fatso." Tripping over themselves to apologise then. People are just thoughtless. No harm to call them on it, might make them think twice next time.

I've some dentists in the family, so I can't really avoid them. Every chance now they have a gawk in my gob. Teeth do get super wobbly during pregnancy. It's been a few weeks now since brushing my teeth was blood-free.

Cyning, It's 12 weeks, 16, 20, 24, 28 I think, and then every two weeks from 30 to 36. every week for the last month here in cork anyway. Or that's how it was the last time.

Thats mad, ive only been to the doctor for the initial confirmation, then booking apt at hospital at 11wks. Hubby had to go for flu jab during the week and I told him to ask when I should go for a visit and he said he doesnt need to see me til 24wks! Not that Im complaining, the less people poking at me the happier I am:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 324 ✭✭LH2013

I thought it was mad too especially as everything is going good ! She even wrote down that that ive hosp app 14 wks after first visit and Ive to go to docs 4,8,12 weeks after my first hosp app !!!

I dont see the need really !!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭Suucee

Pwurple i just laughed it off really.
As my gp scans me i havent been too worried. Had a scan with him at the begining and thats when he reffered me to epu. Then was with epu twice.
Then had scan with gp at 7 weeks and another with gp aeound 12 weeks . But have gotten 3 different dates at this stage. All within a week.
Gona give them a ring again next week to see whats happening.

Moving house sucks !!!! Back is killing me and I have a head cold :( sighhhhhh

Our ex landlord is a demon fro m hell .. .. Moan moan moan ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,251 ✭✭✭cyning

I'm due in Gp about 20 weeks and hosp 21 weeks. Specialist again this week though and I can guarantee I need bloods done before that so I can feel the never ending conveyor belt of Gp/endo/hosp appts about to start. Want to hear heartbeat now.

I love little baby kicks. Nausea much better last two days no vomiting or gagging so I'm really hoping it's lifting. Everytime I say that it gets worse again so I'm probably tempting fate ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,449 ✭✭✭✭pwurple

I sympathise on that cyning. Moving house does indeed suck. Three house moves in as many years for us.

I haven't felt any flutter things now all week, so i'm getting nervous about it, and back doing knicker watch. 2 more weeks til scan. I wish I had xray vision sometimes.

Pwurple i went through a few days if not feeling anything and then back to few movements. I think i have to be very relaxed.
Cyning glad your feeling a bit better. Hope it continues.
So finally got someone on the phone from hospital. They are blaming gp saying he never sent letter but since i got my maternity care letter im not sure. So they were supposed to ring bavk today ( ive just noticed thr time. Prob wont get a call now) with an appointment for either this thurs or next thurs.
LO slept in toddler bed last night but poor divil caught her daddys head cold and was coughing and sneezing all night. Im hoping i wont get it again.
