lol Thanks Cyning! I'm gonna say it to him again tonight. I really don't want either of us to have to move into the spare room, but I'm only getting bigger and my space on the bed just seems to be getting smaller!! lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 282 ✭✭Siipina

I have the same problem with my OH, He is on business trip at the moment and I got such a good sleep last night without him :-) He is 6.5 and sleeping like a brick wall. But neither of us can sleep in the spare room as I really need my cuddles before falling a sleep.
As I dont know what to eat or what to do with my Blood sugar I actually found myself yesterday starving. So ate porridge without honey and with only hot water, great. First they make a big fuss but dont give any advise. It is really pissing me of especially that I have to drive an hour up to Cavan to pick up my copied notes and drive an hour back and next day to drogheda. Can they send it to by post? Or maybe email? Like what does somebody without a car? and all the money for petrol, like I have so much that it doesnt matter that I drive through the country for the craic. gggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I do sleep like you Suucee. One under my bump and another behind me, but I always wake with back pain that goes from the middle of my back around under my ribs on the right side. Don't want to invest in a body pillow though.. And yes I too often have only 1/3 of the bed.. If it's not the OH its the cat!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,449 ✭✭✭✭pwurple

Body pillow is the way to go girls... that 15 quid in aldi was the best spend ever. I should have done it for my last pregnancy, the sleep I'm getting on this one is way better. Rolling over is like moving a mountain, but I flip over after nighttime loo runs mostly.

Oh, and preventative gaviscon tablet before lying down, otherwise I'm awake in 20 mins dying with heartburn.

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭firsttimemammy

+1 to the preventative Gaviscon. It's the last thing I do before lying down!!

Yea i also take gavisvon just before bed. My OH sleeps through everything. I could shove him over and get him to move and he has no recollection of it in the morning.
Only problem with that is when he was doing night feeds i always had to wake him. 2 or 3 times id have to shove him and loads of times would have to pick up the baby and nearly shake OH "its your turn"
I wouldnt mind but he only done 2 nights a week and our LO only ever woke once a night. Hoping we will be just as lucky this time.

Im awfully uncomfortable today. Getting breathless very easily. Feel like im waddling and the front of my pelvis pretty sore. Not sure if spd playing up or if its the position of the baby. He feels very low. In the doctors thurs so will know more.
Maybe its because i have been doing a few bits yesterday and today and im still recovering from my cold.

Sorry to hear about your GD Siipina. Complete bummer! You could perhaps ask if they have a diabetes nurse specialist in your hospital? They would be able to give you lots of helpful information on GD on what to avoid/not avoid etc. I could help a little... But I'm afraid I wouldn't want to give medical advice and all that on here.

Succee you seem to be sorted wit your pram! Lucky thing! I still have to get mine yet.

Also finding sleeping uncomfortable and when I wake it could take me 2 hours to get back to sleep tossing and turning so OH ends up in the spare room... Which I hate!

My little fella is now on antibiotics for a chest infection. He's so wheezy and coughing like mad now. I hate seeing him sick.

I drove into town yesterday to pick up his prescription and left car in at park for 10 min. When I came out some pr/ck had taken the bloody side off my car! Couldn't believe it. No note left or anything. no cctv either. About 2 grand damage I'd say. I just went home and cried. And I was upset about my little fella being sick aswell :(. Worse was that I couldn't even get a cuddle of my OH as I'm staying with my mum in the country for a couple nights. That hug woulda made me feel so much better. Can't wait to get one tomorrow.

Awh no Sligo, What a pain. Hope your LO is on the mend soon.
We al still have a bad cough here but nothing too bad. Im due to gp Thursday and thinking of bringing LO in too as shes due to get her grommets next week so want to make sure she's totally well for it. Will see how she is.

Yea I got the double months ago. Had a bit of an accident last summer where a motorist mounted the path and clipped OH and buggy. OH was left with a sore arm, LO had a bruise on her leg and buggy was damaged (so so so lucky in comparison to the story that has been in the news only recently) . Anyway the car drove off and we didn't get the number plate. After the gardai investigating they got the vehicle but the owner (disqualified driver) denied driving it. As there was no proof nothing gardai could do so we didn't bother with a civil case. He offered to pay for the damaged buggy though and that's when we bought the trekko as converts from single to double.
OH then decided to fix the damaged buggy as it was such a waste. so bought a new wheel and OH (works in a garage) got the frame straightened .

What type of double are you going for. You will prob need it more than I as you have a smaller gap.

Well your story makes me realise things could have been a lot worse!!! I nearly feel bad for complaining, at least no one was hurt. Succee that an awful thing to happen! I'd say ye were counting your lucky stars! Your poor OH and LO. And yea that story in the new atm is just awful.

Think we've narrowed the buggies down to the city jogger mini or the out n about nipper. I would prefer a tandem like you have to push around but the 2 we've narrowed it down to are really easy to just collapse and throw in car.

Starting buying some baby gros the last few days... Sooo cute :)

O and I'm so happy your LO is getting the grommets. Hopefully she will feel so much better and it will such a relief for ye aswell.

Yea it was horrible. It actually happened the day before i done my pregnancy test. So by the time it was sorted we knew we would be needing a double.
There both lovely buggies but way out of my price range and considering the age of my lo. Also didnt want something too big as alot of the
Shops around here are hard enough to get around with a stroller .

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,948 ✭✭✭Sligo1

It must've been so horrible. Thank god all was ok x

Jeez, what kind of asshole destroys the side of someone's car and then bogs off? A car which would have had a baby seat in it as well.

And i can't even think about the car mounting footpath. Terrifying stuff.

I'm going to have to ban myself from watching the news. Another awfully sad birth gone wrong case on it again tonight.

Yea you know I wouldn't have been so annoyed if it was an accident and they left a note or something. Accidents happen and all that. Have to go through my insurance now... But thank god I paid the extra €50 so have my NCB protected.

But things could be sooo much worse like Succees story and those others we're hearin about lately. Makes me feel a little lucky I spose....

O god and the news... Haven't seen it tonight but when I do I'd say the tears are going to flood.... I'm so emotional lately.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭Suucee

Ah mines not that bad. Could of been so much worse. That story recently hit a nerve as d f**ker that did hit LO and OH got away with just paying 300 and nothing more was done.

I still get the chills though when i walk along where it happened.

Such a pain though sligo having to go through your own insurance cause soneone didnt have the decency to write a note or something.

Yea pwurple heard that story myself. I think those storys just hit a nerve more so when pregnant as it worrys you.

Thank you Sligo, I ll see somebody for this on Thursday I guess, see what they will tell me :-)

Oh The poor woman and her baby. I know that road well and its a horrible stretch, few month ago somebody was killed just a few meters further on the same road. To be honest I would never walk on that road.

Found my Buggy as well, just have to order it :-) I am totally in love with it

My double buggy is currently in Dublin and I'm starting to freak out about it. It's my aunts, a phil&Teds and I want to have it here now! Delighted I didn't have to buy it I had to buy everything new for C so it's nice to get a hand me down at this stage. Still haven't bought sling for babs and really need to... Think I want a close caboo.

I'm going to have to stop watching news too :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 324 ✭✭LH2013

I really want a sling but have no idea which one to get ! I am getting the final big bits sorted Saturday (hopefully! )

I am not allowed watch the news anymore ..... even at work I am banned from Sky News ha ha ha

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,948 ✭✭✭Sligo1

I want to get a sling aswell but I think I'm gonna wait until LO is born so I can try her in them....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,449 ✭✭✭✭pwurple

The slings you nearly have to try on before you are pregnant, which is a disaster now obviously. There are sling libraries around, where you can rent them.

We got a babybjorn as a pressie, and my husband loved it... those ones are fairly bloke-ish. It wasn't as comfy as some of the other ones I've tried for me, but sure it was grand. We didn't want TWO slings.

Sling meets are definitely the way to go... I used a bjorn to start off with C but they are definitely not as comfortable and much faffier than other ones. Most people use stretchy wraps for babies but my hubby would have a heart attack he'd be convinced baby would fall out! So the close carrier I want is basically a cross between a wrap and a ring sling so he's more comfortable with me using it. I should be able to feed in it too :)

Also why is it that I leave the house looking like crap (as in unbrushed hair, a hoody with baby snot on it, baggy track suit pants that are too long) and I have to meet what feels like half the town?!

Just back from my gp appointment. All normal normal normal thank goodness. Baby still breech. Another while to go anyway, they were telling me this the whole time on the first birth and she turned and engaged in the last week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭firsttimemammy

Great news Pwurple!! Always a relief to get another all clear! ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭Suucee

Ah sure it can all change so quick. Ill be the very 1 still here at 41 weeks known my luck. I wont get my hopes up .

Partially engaged, gosh! Hard to walk I'd say suuccee... I felt it when the head started to engage, you get this waddle, and pee All The Damn Time. Hope you do go slightly early. It's a right pain walking around with a head lodged in your pelvis!

I've a waddle and pee all the time anyway!.... Hahahaha

Woohoo for the partial engagement Suucee!!

When I was in with the hospital last week, they said the head was downwards but still floating. Later that night, the baby started doing acrobatics, so God knows how it's lying now. It just feels like all back to me!!

    Yea the peeing is madness.
Physio told me to keep legs together when sitting or moving etc. And that has become pretty impossible now. I had a feeling baba was low from where the movement are. On the plus heartburn has eased and most days only take gaviscon going to bed.
