Looking back on this thread, you refuse to answer questions, you post links pertaining to be about abortion but actually it's post birth and you back up your argument with nonsensical religious guff.

And you still haven't answered my question.

This is a discussion forum. Nobody has to answer your or anybody else's questions. In any case I have answered questions, and I have noted then how constantly questions are asked and then answers are manipulated

Yes it is. Nobody has to answer any questions. That is also correct. Contribution here is voluntary. However, it is also contingent on expected standards those of the terms and conditions of Boards.ie and the local forum charter. "Answering" a question is one thing. Providing a constructive answer that contributes to a discussion is another.

Currently, your last series of posts have done neither. If you persist in posting on this thread in this manner you will be taking a holiday from the forum. Abortion is a serious and sensitive issue. Standards expected in partaking in this thread are higher than those on other threads. Given the sensitive nature of the debate and the heated discussions that may arise from time to time more leniency is shown towards trangressions. However, whatever hope and goodwill the mods had towards you is now expired. Consider this a final warning!

If you don't want to answer a question, at least have the courtesy to say so. Don't avoid or ignore the question or make fun of the asker. A simple "I don't want to answer that question because x" is far better than a joke answer. Then at least that poster knows not to waste time posing questions on particular issues to you.
If you don't want to answer questions on a whole topic (i.e. abortion) then you shouldn't really be on a discussion forum about said topic as you're not adding anything to the discussion, just soap boxing. It's frustrating trying to discus something if someone is just saying the same thing over and over again and not engaging in the discussion. It's the equivalent of trying to hold a conversation while someone constantly says "I'm booored" or "Can we go now?".
    Just my 2c.

Well a left footer can refer to a political ideation of the left as well as Jernal pointed out a left footed football player

Mind ya I think some people found the Van Persie joke very funny, how it can so quickly turn into a drama

and then more of the 'Good divine jaysus...... ' insults

It was a good joke, but you didn't make it :) I f Jernal had been asked the question and responded with that it would have been frustrating too. If you'd said "As in left-wing politics, or as Jernal pointed out left-wing footballer" That would have been a lot less frustrating as you are still engaging the asker whilst acknowledging Jernal's crappy excellent joke.

Unfortunately, women the world over are treated as property, second class citizens, conquests, concubines, baby machines and so on. I suppose we shouldn't be so surprises that a form of taliban exists in Ireland.

Well do you agree with this type of protest, I would hope nobody here supports this type of action !

'About 30 pro-lifers, separated into two groups because of a massive counter-demonstration, were pelted with eggs, and several banners and other personal effects were stolen. A freelance photographer who arrived on the scene later was attacked by two or three persons who tried to snatch her camera; she was protected by the police.
Additionally, a group of pro-lifers arriving by car was assaulted by the crowd, who pounded on their vehicle and attempted to force open the doors before being warded off by security forces.
The pro-abortion demonstrators shouted angry or blasphemous slogans in defense of the right to abortion, praising Judas, and even promising the pro-lifers “two planks and three nails.”'

The left footers sneer and jeer at the pro-life praying, at least they are not doing this kind of stuff at demonstrations.

    another example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHJZTdzdqdI

In fact, on this forum people talk about the insults from the pro-life movement however a simple web search will show most hits on Google or you tube are attacks on the pro life movement from pro-abortion supporters.

Easy to understand why there is such hostility to my posts here !

I think the pro-abortion are more like the Taliban than the pro life

Have you any evidence that the attackers were pro-choice, and not simply thugs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,932 ✭✭✭✭PopePalpatine

Wait...pro-choicers, who are often more supportive of the separation between church and state than pro-lifers, are more like the Taliban than the pro-lifers?

    Give me a break.

You haven't told me why the pro-choice side are more like the the Taliban than the pro-lifers. You and the Taliban have extreme religiosity and misogyny in common, for starters.

  • Moderators Posts: 51,784 ✭✭✭✭Delirium

we had a pro-life poster on this thread call for the imprisonment (and if required restraints) of any woman considering an abortion. Yet it's the pro-choicers that are like the Taliban

If you can read this, you're too close!

"Horror Violent mob of topless pro abort feminists attacks praying men defending cathedral"

Y'know, I don't (often) condone violence towards anyone, but I AM quite loving this youtube title :D

And I am most interested in how there happens to be a pro-life row entirely made up of seemingly martyred men, and a pro-choice row entirely made up of furious naked women. It appears that the symbolism riots have begun. Excellent. Bring it on, I say.

I can remember the reaction and accusations made about me for condoning violence. Spraying people with paint, throwing eggs etc - yes it does

    Jaysus - mind your language

Jaysus, no I won't, thanks very much. Topless women getting rowdy does not constitute violence. When they go in with clubs and balaclavas, get back to me.

It is not in the slightest bit important. I condone it no more and no less than the violence on my sons' xbox games. It makes for entertaining viewing.

I will say this though. If a thoroughly organised group of men turn up in my neighbourhood to pray actively against the actions that women choose to take in order to remain child free, I can promise you a thoroughly organised group of women to put them right on the subject. In fact, I would organise them.

I imagine I would ask the praying men to stop insulting my choices with their good intentions.

Hmm, let's see. Eggs thrown, or murders, arson and bombings. Which is closer to the Taliban, I wonder.

    Fair enough Jernal.

What on earth is a left-footer though?

Did I miss the explanation? Also, who or what is a pro-abortion? I know what pro-choice is, but I never met one of these pro-abortion thingies.

In response to your original post. That was kind of my intention. :o

A left footer is a player who plays football predominantly with their left foot i.e they shoot, pass and cross using their left foot. It could also be the left side of the bottom of a page. The top of page is known as the header and the bottom (where the page no. is very often located) is referred to as the footer.

Pro-abortion is the mystical person who actively wants people to experience abortions.

Also from the Northern Irish saying that farm workers in the Republic use the left foot to push a spade when digging

In Scotland, refer to a Roman Catholic

In The Republic refer to a protestant or someone who 'took the soup'

Or a socialist, political ideation from the left (they usually support abortion)

Ah mbiking, with these insults you are truly spoiling us. I take it English isn't your first language?

Well, considering your religiosity, that's no surprise. You clearly need no evidence for your beliefs.
