Same old sh1te really, same as last 10+ years.

Couple of market stalls hawking a load of old crap.

Whoever's in charge of this festival really really needs to change it up.

I have no connection to the festival committee however I am sure they would be delighted to get more volunteers on the committee that would spend hours organising heritage day and provide a fresh input into the stalls/acts etc... for the day. My children and I were there today and they really enjoyed it, I can only imagine the amount of work that goes into it.

I enjoyed it and the weather made it. Don't think it was as busy as previous years. I had to find the heritage stalls - the ones on Garden street were great - the tin maker, the straw bailers and the wood craftsmen. These really are skills that are tethering on the brink.

The costumes on show were good and not everyone gets in the spirit of it.

How to improve it? It needs to get more people involved.

BTW the mack and spuds were great!

Anything positive at all to say about it?

Do you do much voluntary work yourself for the community?

What has volunteer work got to do with it? The OP asked for opinions on the day, I gave mine.

Maybe someone could explain what a bunch of stalls selling a load of overpriced tut has to do with our "heritage"? Actually, now that I think of it, maybe it does really sum up Ireland :).

I saw plenty of traditional craft stalls. Sure, it gets repetitive after seeing it for umpteen years, but i doubt locals are their primary target market.

    So what happened then?
