I bought a de-cat pipe off ebay a while ago and decided to fit it today. Got the neighbours car ramp and while under I was afraid the car would fall on me. So I went to a garage. Good job too as the bolts were rusted to bits and he had to cut two off with angle grinder.(something I don't have) Car feels a small bit better, not as much as I thought it would be. I also looked into old cat and if you hold it up to light you can see the other side so they are choking up exhaust fumes like I thought and are pretty free flowing.

I don't know was it worth the hassel of fitting the decat as the cat will have to be fitted next year for nct and I will have to drill two bolts out of cat as he cut the heads off two nuts. But on the bright side I have a whole year to try and get them out so no real panic. I will buy some WD40 and try and get them out with vise grip before I go drilling.

GvidoR we've had a few conversations and stuff when I was trying to get them parts cheap for you, so I want to give some advice as a friend....

Will you please stop spraying bits of cars black :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

That's carbon-fibre wrap on the grille, mate.

Stop making bits of car appear black then :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Thanks for your input and stuff, but it's not like I'm going overboard with the black stuff. :)

Now all you need to do is treat the plastic on bumpers and she will look mint.

Look up detailing for some great tips if you haven't been on before.
    The black badge looks well.

is that the cork limerick road in the background?
If so why were you at the side of a main road taking pics of your car?
Not meaning to sound like a bollocks - just curious?

Nope, that is N4 (Dublin-Sligo) road.

Nothing wrong with stopping in the hard shoulder for 30 seconds either.

Nothing wrong with it at all. I didnt mean to seem like a ****er in my last post. Just was surprised you would stop when your driving along take a picture of your car get in and drive again.

Thought there might have been a story with the picture.

    BTW Grill looks well.

All I've been doing is driving mine :D
After last night a few will know the sheer size of the boot space in my car, today it showed just how much it can fit :pac: one bath. a shower screen, 6 tins of paint, three tubs of tiling adhesive, two tubs of grout, tile spacers, 8 boxes of big tiles, and various other small things

Temporarily yeah, if you want to keep buying it and re-doing the trim that's what to get. If you actually want to properly restore the trim on a more permanent basis, use gtechniq c4

DO BMW use pleather or leather? Don't like the look/feel of the leather in a lot of them.
