CS:GO

I bought CS:GO the other day on sale and installed it last night.
When I hit "Play" my screen flashes black for a second, as if it's booting, but then returns to windows, with no game window open.
I've checked processes and it seems to be running the .exe for CS:GO. Steam also thinks I'm in game. I've tried deleting the game, and re-installing it, along with a few other things suggested on google, but nothing has worked for me!
Anyone know whats wrong and how to fix it?

What graphics card do you have? Are you using the latest drivers?

try going into properties and compatibility and mark it as launch as admin and see it that sorts it.if its not that could be that the native resolution isn't compatible with your monitor, so you'll have to manually change the starting res in the settings ini files, which are usually located in the cs prog folder. If none of those things work have a look around over on the steam cs forums,if your having a problem with it, chances are some one else had it before and the solution will be there.

    edit.

just had a quick look myself and you probably went on steam already as similar post here

alot of thread going unanswered and alot of idiots giving smart answers to people in need, but from what I can make out it could be a problem related to the last update.Lot of people also having problems with matchmaking .

Just got it running now. Needed to set the screen res and it was ok then.
When to try join a game, and i'm getting nothing. Tried all methods available to join a server, and none are work. Just getting throwen back to the title screen, or a loading/searching page saying "failed to join game" and it stays there.
Tired forcing an update, as the feed on the right side of the screen says my client is out of date (only downloaded late last night btw) and still stays the same. Anyone got some idea for this? Seems like it's more effort then it's worth right now

I'll take a look at that stuff when I get up tomorrow morning. On the laptop right now. Hopefully it'll sort it out!

Got this working - Had to go into properties, then "betas" and change a setting in there.

Sorry to slightly hijack this post but does anyone else get crazy high ping when playing CS:GO. I do a ping test and get 30 or 40 but when I play this I get 250+
Iv tried it on European servers too and it's still really high, anyone know now to resolve this?
