Don't you think exiling them to the conspiracy theory forum excludes and marginalised them, pushing them out of the wider debate?

    Doesn't seem fair.

There's nothing stopping someone getting involved in a discussion in the likes of AH, and they'd be more than welcome to out forward their ideas if they can back them up.
The problem arises when someone comes in with crazy outlandish claims of lizard people and chem trails. That stuff is better suited to one forum.

Don't you think that they marginalise themselves with some of their theories? They're' not exiled to the CT forum, but they also have to understand that the majority of people have little time for their theories and therefore don't want to discuss them.

I see what you are saying, but it seems exclusionary. I can't see why they just can't have their own thread on the relevant forum.

As El Guapo! said, there's nothing to stop CTers joining in discussions on other forums. That said, from the very little time I've spent in the CT forum the posters there do seem to enjoy being able to discuss their theories without the prospect of being ridiculed or having to constantly defend them to sceptics.

    It's for their own safety.

Pretty sure calling them tin foil hatters doesn't help dispell the preconceptions that has mods moving their threads off to the CT forum. :)
