CSO Surveys to business

We constantly get surveys from the CSO looking for various stats every quarter and to be honest I'm getting a bit hacked off with it It says we are obliged by law to fill them in and return them, out of interest what penalties if any are there if I dont. Also has anyone ever got taken off the list so to speak?
