    Greetings!

I'm on WC and have 2 major doubts:

Nani - obviously a risk but still taking a punt on him.

Calum Chambers (southampton) - will he be a regular? or is it safer to go with Chester/Gabbidon ?

With Carroll out til the New Year it appears that West Ham have swooped for Mladen Petric. Could be a cheap option whenever his price is set.

Kagawa starting for Utd tonight, could it be his springboard into the Premiership starting 11?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,977 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

I have hart and zab and so far it worked out well

I dont have rvp or rooney

i have rio but am tempted to bring in vidic after the city game which
would leave me totally dependent on clean sheets
utd have such and easy looking fixture list that im thinking it could
    work out great

do people think this is mad?

He did nothing of note in the time he was on the pitch so doubt it.

    Valencia looks good though.

    Valencia goal. Rooney assist.

Oh right, didn't get a chance to see the game, only updates on sky football app.

I think the two games either side of utds next cl game away at shakthar donetsk are rotation risks for every utd player. They will play there strongest team in donetsk so in particular ferdinand and maybe vidic will miss one of the league games either side. WBA home and sunderland Away.

Guys which of these do we think is a better option over the next few weeks?

    Michu or Erikkson?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Things not looking good for Mata,Jose has stated that Oscar is his preferred number 10 & both him & Ramires are his first choices as Mata needs to learn to track back.

Gone from a FF must have to an no-no over the space of the Summer.

Mourinho is a moron. Mata pisses all over Oscar and Hazard for that matter.

    Di canio sacked.

    Di canio sacked.

Not sure if it's a good or bad thing for those with 'pool players in their teams, they play Sunderland in GW6.

I reckon its a bad thing myself. New manager usually gets an initial boost.

I agree. Nobody could be as bad as Di Canio was either.

    Bit ridiculous sacking him
Now after allowing him to rip their whole squad apart.

Thought I'd share this site with you all http://fpl.checkmystats.org/

Don't think I've seen it mentioned on here . It's an easy way of pulling up stats without signing into the site , It also goes into a little bit more detail than the official site.

Rvw was meant to be on them in the first place. Snodgrass just grabbed the ball on Saturday.

Lads, general query as first time player. What is a good overall score, if you ended the season in a high position, top 5,000 say, how many points would you be likely to have?

Hw many points won it last year?

Just wondering what is a good average score to have, I've averaged 54 pts per week over the 5 weeks so far, and looking for some consolation as the last two weeks have been ****e.

The overall gameweek average figure is pretty meaningless I reckon, especially as there are probably loads who registered a team and gave up after a couple of weeks. I'd imagine you'd want to be getting well above that to be competitive.

It can vary greatly year to year.

In 2011/12 I finished 524th overall with 2279 points, last year I got just 46 points less (2233) and finished 6584th. Highest ever score pointswise was 09/10 with 2437 points but that was just a finish of 1228th place

3 points ahead of my main pay-league.

If I can hang on, despite 10 teams being within 20 points, next week I will bag 50 quid as a monthly prize.

Slim chance though. All depends on Suarez :D

Does anybody think Luiz could get a run out in midfield with Ramires a doubt for the weekend? He currently seems like dead wood in my defence but I can't move him out till next week.

Mourinho was pretty critical of Benitez playing Luiz in midfield .

Personally, I think Russell Martin is better.

We'll see how it is this week-end.

Boruc for me. I'd say the Sunderland guys will want to put on a good show to impress whoever the new manager will be

Usually this place is buzzing on a Friday morning. You'd know FIFA was released yesterday.

There's no hype this year about FIFA , think Gta V is the cause of that .

There was enough hype for Xtravision and HMV to open at midnight last night.

    Edit:

Boruc plays for Southampton home to Palace this GW
    Mig away to Sunderland

Tough one! I'd go with Boruc

Can the admin of the Boards FSA league close it off to new entries? No point in letting people join in any further surely

Just noticed the 'Rivals' function on TotalFPL, very useful

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yeah I use that, was great last year to keep an eye on my main rivals. I think the bonus point section is new though, seems to update in real time too. FISO seems to have gone downhill since last year, I never use it anymore.

Does anyone know what the timeframes for 'Quarter1' are in the game?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

Robbie Brady is out for the next 4 weeks

I assume he will miss at least two FPL games in this time, I don't have him:P

Fantasy Premier League season will be divided into four quarters:

    Q1 (GW 1-9),

    Q2 (GW 10-19),

    Q3 (GW 20-29)

    Q4 (GW 30-38).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,608 ✭✭✭cathalio11

I don't understand what you mean by "Quarters"?

    Is this an official thing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I run a few money leagues and this season one of the prizes is for the winner of each quarter, as per the 'Quarter' filter on each league table.

I see Joe Hart is in 3rd place that probably explains his poor form. He was probably thinking whether to go with suarez or sturridge during the B munich game.
