Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i have a hotpoint fdl570 dishwasher, ran a wash but stopped before end with flashing lights, salt, rinse, wash and dry flashing, the water had not drain so had to drain it by disconnecting outlet underneath, does not appear to have leaked, catch tray was dry, did not trip the cutout.
now when i turn the machine on, lights no longer flash, but does nothing, no sound?
    any ideas? thks

How old is it.? is it still covered by warranty.? This sounds like the heater has failed of even the main motor.
    power off before any checks.!!!
If you can use an electrical meter, check the heater for continuity.
These machines are made by indesit and heater/main motor failures are frequent.

It 4 yrs old out of warranty, hotpoint will come out for €114, i empty it last night, turn it on and it started to wash, then stopped half way, water not drained , the water was hot at the bottom . I'm hoping its drain pump as this would be the cheaper fix. (€28 on line but from UK) what setting on meter for testing? thks

Try the wash again and see if the water heats.
Did you hear any buzzing/humming when you started the wash.?
if you did the drain pump is probably ok.
Meter settings depend on your meter. Can you get continuity or a bleep when you cross both poles on the heater.

ONCE AGAIN POWER OFF WHEN TESTING.!!!

Tryed the wash again and water hot, i noticed a good delay before anything happens on restart (silence), then the sound of water turning.
my meter does not have a beep, but connected it to terminals of drain pump and got a reading (right reading, i don't know).
i also tryed tripping the leak switch to see if this will start the drain pump ,to empty the dishwasher when it stopped, this did not start the pump.
At the start of wash does the drain pump kick in first? thks

So the water is hot --- heater ok
High reading on drain pump indicates its ok.
Main pump/spray pump is working? if you open the door suddenly during the wash you will prove this, it will just stop as you open, but you'll know.
Machine is getting water so water inlet is ok.
So that leaves the temperature switch, the wiring, or the PCB.
the wiring on these machines is ****ty, check for breaks.
had this problem on a whirlpool and it was the temp switch, its either a bayonet push in type to the bottom of the sump or attached to the main pump housing. either way it touches the water circuit.

I know for sure now not drain pump, connected to live power, turned away fine.
might need to get hotpoint out (€114 includes parts) was hoping for a cheaper fix.
