    Hi,
    im buying a home now but this some is now disconnected from power can somebody tell how long will take to connect power back and is it free of charge??

    Congratulations on your purchase. :)

    There is a charge for reconnection, though how much you'll have to pay depends on how long the property has been without supply. There are three possible scenarios:
    • Less than 6 months without power: we can arrange for a reconnection usually within 2 working days, and the current cost for this is €79.45 (incl. VAT).
    • Between 6 months and 2 years: the charge is still €79.45, but you'll need to arrange to have a registered electrical contractor to certify the internal wiring of the property.
    • Longer than 2 years: In this case you'll need to apply to ESB Networks to get the property reconnected. The application form is here, and it outlines the steps involved in the process.

    Hi 4motion,

    €79.45 (incl. VAT) is the set cost of sending an ESB Networks technician out to reconnect in this case. This charge would be the same across all suppliers.
