Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Business/Contract/Employment Law Solicitor?

    Hi folks,
I'm looking to take the next steps with my business and was thinking, instead of going to my local solicitor, should I be seeking a solicitor who specialises in business/contract/employment law instead? I just want some pretty straight forward advice and agreements and obviously want to keep costs to a minimum while still getting proper legal advice so trying to avoid any big firms charging €300 per hour  and then trying to avoid any one who will have to charge me for research time so would ideally want someone reasonable who specialises in this area and knows what I'm asking reasonably well.

I'm no too au fait with the world of law so maybe any lawyer will do? Any advice appreciated either way :)

A mid-sized firm might offer you a balance as regards range of experience versus cost.

However, if you are looking for straightforward advice as opposed to more specialised stuff, maybe a competent GP Solicitor with a broad knowledge would be appropriate.

Ask your accountant for a recommendation. Accountants deal with lots of solicitors and they may know somebody that might fit the bill.

Thanks for the suggestion. My accountant is part of a big enough firm so I'd be slightly worried he'd be passing me on to an expensive solicitor too but could be worth asking anyway. If anyone has recommendations I'd be grateful.

Please read the charter. Solicitor recommendations are not allowed.
