Would you be alright if I was to say that it's better than all of the Marvel produced movies so far?

That would be more a statement of the obvious :)

Terminator 2 wins by default because it doesn't have the 'you mess with one new yoikah you mess with all of new yoik!' scene.

I didn't say the first Spiderman was better. But yeah, Marvel's movies are pretty much all style and very little substance in between. It's probably the reason why I was so disappointed in The Avengers after people hyped it to the ends of the earth as being this amazing thing.

Oooh. We still have to talk about games...uhhh...remember that cancelled Avengers game that (I think) was supposed to be based of the movie?

Ah the Marvel movies are a lot of fun, they don't really pretend to be anything else and fail miserably *cough* Dark Knight Rises *cough*.

I'm surprised Disney didn't cash in with an avengers game myself.

You can only see the climax take place in or around an urban area so many times. And I anticipate that Age of Ultron will be no exception. I think the first Captain America was the exception as that took place in a flying wing bomber.

Jesus I'm getting old. Fired up the cab last night along with some SNK fighter, Mark of the wolves I think.

Anyway my almost 3 year started touching the monitor trying to select the characters when on the select screen.

Eh that's not quite how this works son.

There's no point. They'd never be able to touch the quality of the Lego Marvel game.

Disney Infinity 2.0 gives Disney a cash in vehicle that keeps on giving.
Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2 are in there.

Regards towards comic book movies I love them , they are stupid fun , regards towards should they be taken seriously thats up in thin air , these are characters for the most part got through people through tough times and being around since the days of dark times and world wars , they are mythos for people to inspire too even if the characters are abit silly and there costumes are quite cheesy there message should not change.

No different from people turning to anime characters and inspiring to be them or videogames.

Marvel movies got it right that it should be for families and couples who just want to sit down for 2hrs for ****s and giggles and have a great time.
Dc is sort of a good counter balance to that to give realistic mixed with dark and gritty, both sides suiting for different people needs.

speaking of Neo-Geo, which Fatal Fury game on the ps2 do people think is the best to get, bearing in mind I don't want to pay stupid money.

PS2? Pfft, get a MVS supergun system!

Also playasia got back to me. They say they are no longer offering free shipping on their weekly specials due to the increase in shipping costs across the board. They said they will be aggresively lowering prices though but I think the weekly specials won't be as special anymore unless you are ordering multiple items.

Well here's a prototype I've never seen before.

While Nintendo were thinking about how to release a westernized version of the Famicom, one of the designs was a home computer/gaming system hybrid.

Also came across this, an unreleased Taito console

What I find particularly interesting about them is seeing the thought process in how the designers got to the console that was released in the end :)

Design wise, the tape deck in the second pic almost looks like a mini NES!

Controllers really remind me of VHS tapes. There's something kind of cool about them (even if the D pad does look dire :D)

They have that Nintendo prototype in the Nintendo Store in Times Square.

I am finding it quite annoying after sonic colours and generations I thought they were best of sonic 3d games and more than enough to improve the foundations upon and make even a better kickass game but wtf happened ? Why change everything again with sonic lost world aka Sonic galaxy but worse and sonic and clank with sonic boom ?

    Sonic heroes was on rails
Have not played unleashed but I heard its pretty meh
Sonic and the black knight looks terrible
Secret rings looks pretty boring aswell
Sonic 06 is the lowest the game got to rock bottom.

Why do sega make the decisions they make ? Like Its one thing failing on its own ideas but now they are failing by blatant copying of other platformers ?

    :(

This is what puzzles me - why do some Sonic fans (i.e. poor ole richy :)) torture themselves in the hope that Sonic will ever return to his MD glory days? Just be content with those titles, forget about the crap that came after. Although Sonic Racing Transformed is great! :D

Exactly, for whatever reason, programmers today just don't seem capable of adding to the lineage, or even recreating it (Sonic 4 :(). Don't get me started on 3d Sonic games, & really don't get me started on Sonic games where Sonic talks. The series is best as a 2d platformer, with inspired music & level design. That doesn't seem possible to do these days.

I do not appreciate the fact sonic team took the franchises to city landscapes and the only thing you ever see are tall buildings , where is my green hill zone that was so rich and vibrant ? Even places like casino zone in sonic 2 was much better in detail than adventure.

Sonic CD and Knuckles Chaotix would kind of slot in there for me too. They're certainly not on par, but they're still nowhere near the catastrophic mess it all turned into after the 16 bit gen.

True, & I'd hold Sonic CD in a better light than Chaotix...but as you said, they're not quite on par. But yeah, they aren't even in the same league as the disasters to follow

    I included 2 there.
Triple Trouble wasn't bad and I don't think Advance was too bad, obviously hard to beat S1 - S&K but I don't think they should be banished with Sonic 06.
S06 is so bad it's entertaining, if you like glitches and I do

I kind of want to give Sonic a play through now. Shame the only one at my disposal is Sonic 4 on my phone :( /shudder

Thought that maybe it was crap due to the touch controls so gave it a go with a wireless controller. Nope.

The controls are so wrong and broken I don't know where to start. He doesn't feel like sonic at all. There's not enough inertia or something.

I really like the master system sonic games except for that awful pre rendered one on the game gear. They are loads of fun and have amazing music.

Sonic CD I really don't like at all. I just find the level design boring. I rate the Sonic Advance and Neo Geo Pocket Colour games way ahead of it and they suffer from iffy level design.

I really liked Sonic Rush. It might have been very different from classic Sonic but it was a fantastic game in its own right. Brilliant soundtrack as well. Then they went and ruined that with Sonic Rush Adventure with those stupid story and waterskiing sections between levels.

I remember when sonic 4 came out I was excited , played it and I was puzzled how broken the physics Were and how broken the platforming felt. Looks absolutely awful aswell without the sprites

Jesus you've really let yourself go since they kicked the Sega forum into the bin! :P

Coincidently with all this Sonic talk - I played a few minutes of it at the weekend. Anytime I fire up the MD on the Trini I have to put on Sonic 1 for a few minutes - just to see those colours pop out of the screen. Really do like the artwork in that game. Even though I never played that particular game as a kid, it's like a warm blanket firing up old games on the CRT.

Give Sonic 1 & 2 a full play through on that modded Nomad of yours some time. And you're spot on re Sonic 4...something is terribly wrong with the controls/physics, it doesn't feel at all like it should do.

I really liked the carnival levels in Sonic 4: Episode 1, although they probably don't need to throw 25+ lives at you every time you run through it. It's actually hard to play the game without being given a near endless supply of 1-ups :pac:. The rest, though... One of the worst final bosses I've ever played.

How can the programmers get the physics of the game so wrong when Yuji Naka got them so right with just a crappy Motorola 68000. Pure lazines.

Is it simply laziness? I've wondered this many times...the controls/physics of the classic games just hasn't been replicated at all since

Is it possible to get at the original source code, from the ROM maybe? Was it written in Assembler or C or something else back then? Would be an interesting exercise (well for a programmer I guess) to try and replicate perfectly the Sonic movement over a few screens, a tiny demo of sorts.
