Exactly. Just make sure you run the prompt as an administrator by following the above.

When I copy in the line, I get an error though, not recognising it...

Are you an administrator? Did you try running cmd as an admin?

Not sure if I'm an admin. This is a refurb laptop. How would I run it as an admin?

Did you set up the laptop? When you press start and search for cmd, right click it and click Run as Administrator, it may ask for your password. Will it accept your password?

I can run it as an admin, did that, but when I typed in the line of code, it tells me the syntax is incorrect. This is what I typed in:

    mklink /d “%userprofile%\SkyDrive” E:\Cloud_MUSIC

Hrmph. Try replacing <%userprofile%> with <User>?

    As in mklink /d "User\SkyDrive" E:\Cloud_MUSIC

    Is the prompt starting with

    C:\Users\User>

    or

    C:\Windows\system32> ?

Both depending on how I run it. I can run as admin...

Definitely run as admin. Maybe try again replacing %userprofile% with User. Any techies here?

Could get it moved to another forum maybe?
