Officially my favourite app on my iPhone. No need to convert avi, m4v or mkv files anymore to work with your iDevice - simply drag and drop your 1080p movies through iTunes and you're ready to go. Lovely!

I moved on to Moli Player months ago, can't see myself going back. Wonder if they've lost many others to similar alternatives.

Can you play videos over the network with VLC?

That's the biggest feature i want, watch videos directly from the NAS without copying it over.

(I know i could just try it out but at work now so can't )

Of course. Just import them into VLC using File Sharing in iTunes. Then sync.

open itunes, go to iphone/ipad and select apps.
At the bottom you should see a list of apps that allow you to add files.
Select VLC and click on add and pick your files.
Works great so far..watched a mkv on it last night with no issues.

Thanks will try that later. Think the app would come with a little tutorial.
