Tell them you were self-employed and they'd set the dogs on you.

Lavlahn fund ??? what happened to the money that was in it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,688 ✭✭✭An Claidheamh

Not to be mean, but can he not wait until his claim is processed?

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

The fund Joe, the fund. Actually, what is the fund being used for these days, he hasn't mentioned it in years.

Or Brendan O'Carroll on Lahn 2.

Jeez, what's the point of having kids if you can't tap them up?

Joe is going to work on him now

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,495 ✭✭✭✭eviltwin

He left a job to come over here ?!!!? Could he not have just moved to the next town and stayed working?

Easier said than done if you've no money.

That said, I don't think we are getting the full story.

This guy sounds like he has mental problems. No friends, can't call on his offspring and no access to cash. He doesn't need national exposure, he needs a doctor.

A lot of the story seems to be missing

Not getting the full story here at all. Would love to know what happened in Sasana when his kids and folks won't have anything to do with him.

And what about his UK Bank accounts. The cards will work here too.

    He sounds unhinged.

send him a few bob Joe...its worth it for the tears you are getting...

  • Registered Users Posts: 415 ✭✭Degringola

I feel really sorry for him though, he sounds like a broken man.

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

Joe's not trying as hard as usual to get tears. Even potential tears can't excite him this week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,988 ✭✭✭constitutionus

if he threw him it what would an hour of joes wages get him ?

He should go to the HSE until his Welfare is sorted out.

Not going to happen overnight because he left his job. Doesn't matter what country you are in, in that regard, afaik you lose four weeks welfare if you walk out of a job.

(open to correction there but that's my understanding of it)

I've always had good jobs Joe...telesales.

And no savings and no assets.

I've been down and out before and the bank account is currently running on empty until next friday, and I'm being evicted in a few weeks time but, I've got fall backs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,644 ✭✭✭✭lazygal

Why does he expect a state he hasn't paid any taxes in for years to help him out? His social system is in the UK, he should be claiming there.

I still think he sounds like a bit of a looper. He needs a doctor, not a rant about how he'll beat the system.

A house in Dublin 4, a Lexus, 12 weeks holiday etc. etc.

But he implied they shut the door on him.

Did he not say at the beginning that they just wanted him to wait 8 weeks?

Difficult albeit, he probably will be qualified.

    "I've done it before"

    Sounds like he has history.

He's obviously upset. He might have been behaving erratically in the social welfare office and scaring the staff.
