Do researchers not check that callers have no radio on in the background, and or that the line is ok before they put them through to Joe? Is that not a basic function of radio production?

They probably do, but the muppets turn it up just as they're going on-air so they can hear themselves on d'rayjo.

She doesn't want individual catering, but offering a range of things is not hard to do.

But of course it can't be provided because of "cuts".

skylops, I'm starting to think Joe's paid you off. ;)

I remember the days when the patient's priority used to not leaving the hospital in a wooden box.

Is Joe going to get on to the photos of the hospital food he asked for yesterday?

You are defending the bad service, lack of joined up thinking, waste of money and resources that is the HSE. Which of us has been paid off?

Last year's figures for the Irish army..

    Injured in combat: 0
    Bitten by insects: 1

Now doubt he claim for PTSD as well as the hearing loss.

To me, defending the HSE and the state of our health system in indefensible.

Wasps or bees kill people every year if they get over-sensitised to them. Imagine Joe not knowing that.

Ah Jayzus, think you should know me better than that by now? Not at all. Just a little bemused that this is seen as a critical issue/shortcoming of the Health Service when there are many, many far more serious issues. And Joe egging it on (intentional Funny Friday style pun there)

ffs, army manoeuvres to avoid the path of an insect.. I do a dive and roll every time a wasp enters the room.

The biggest threat faced by the Irish Army was wasp attacks

Not at all, you can disagree with the caller without it being an endorsement of the HSE. It's not a black or a white pudding issue.

Sorry, I was narky before I entered this thread. Eviction looming, can't find replacement accomodation, future of employment in question etc etc. I'm considering ringing Joe.

I remember when Von Paulus was about to break out of Russian encirclement of Stalingrad in 1943, when suddenly an order came from one of his lieutenants "Bees nest straight ahead, retreat retreat".. I saw it on a TV documentary "How Bees Changed History".
