    Does he sound like Larkin.

Did Larkin whistle at the end of his sentences?

Dodgy Uncle Freddie was like that, too. We stayed well clear of him.

Cue a stampede of Joe and his followers turning up at some poor random punter's house in Warrenpoint roaring and shouting for Jim Larkin.....

No, been about young Finnish people drinking Jagermeister and Lime whilst doing electrician work on a plane I think.

Interspersed with disease, and Elf/Safety gone mad (actually gone nice and sensible, but you'll never find Joe admitting that)

No, we had Teenagers Gone Wild in the Air, Lahv Lhyme's Dizzease and Cowboy Builders too but we always seemed to make it back to Big Jim.

I was imagining the scene from Black Books where Fran is listening to the radio and getting off. Turns out the episode is called the Big Lock Out. :D

By the time James took his gripe to the captain, it was too late.

You can bet your ass if there was any bother at all on a plane then it would have been reported by the pilot and cabin crew, and this near riot wasn't, so I am thinking that maybe the caller was exaggerating a little bit for effect.

It sounded to me like he was making most of it up, if not all of it. They could have checked that out before the show. Irresponsible in the extreme.
