    Caller: "Good afternon, Joe"
Joe: "Good afternoon. You've been running Peats Electronics for the last fourteen years, selling TVs, VCRs, camcorders, tape recorders"..
    Caller:"Yeah, Joe."
Joe:"Do YOU have a recording of Jim Larkin's voice?"

Is Peats closing? Not surprised. They don't have the variety of Maplin, and very pricey for things that shouldn't be expensive. Last time I was in there I wanted a USB cable and they were charging I think 6.99 for a standard A to B.

Instead I got it off Amazon for 1.39 plus P+P.

Why do companies, and Im looking at Maplin here aswell, try to make money on the smaller items, and sell the large items cheaply?

Yeah Peats closed the rest of their stores.. It is sad, I have fond memories of the excitement of running up the stairs to see what new games they had in, or walking out with MidWinter for the Atari ST... then meeting Bang Bang on the street and we'd all head off down to Oul Mother D'Arcy's house for some coddle and game of Centipede on the Atari 2600. Oh hang on I'm not sure that happened..

She should be grateful to the building sector for providing her with such a fine house.

Why would anyone leave a permanent public sector job to emigrate? Something not adding up here.

Im disappointed PBH didn't clarify this. This is not the same as people in the private sector who lose their jobs with no alternative.

I think there's a big difference between a) being badly paid and b) being so over leveraged that you cant afford to make ends meet.
