I might sound heartless, but don't most people know about the hard on their luck Irish in the UK at this stage? I mean, its not exactly a 'forgotten' group is it? I'd say it comes up on the likes of radio shows like this, Morning Ireland, Tom Dunne etc, etc, at least once a month.

I think every family has an uncle who went over to England at some point, and some came back and some didnt, and some have issues and some don't.

That's kind of my point-its not really a 'forgotten' cohort. We were doing things like the Street of London song in school 20 years ago. I don't think that this man's story is all that different, and I don't get why it'd be referred to as part of a 'forgotten' story.

I'd doubt the person next door was speaking to him anyway, after he broke up his car..

Bizarre that the guy has a top 10 of people he wanted to kill, and that guy wasn't in it.

That TV3 is half through a 2-part documentary called the "Forgotten Generation" about the Irish who emigrated to the UK, doesn't seem like a coincidence.

Again, like most of the callers today - what's this guy's point? Apart from a free therapy session.

I wouldn't like to be at the AA meeting that this guy goes to. You'd be lucky to get out of the place by dawn.

Weirdly Joes second stand-in gets this kind of story... Damo would never have been given this.

It's only a matter of time before there is a campaign for compo redress for the "Forgotten Generation".
