    Are the keys made of platinum or something.

    "Here are they keys, they're worth 150,000 euros".

    To be honest, I dont have a lot of sympathy for her. If she was on the dole and she could only afford to pay 50 euro a week, then she would at least be engaging with the banks. Posting back the keys and not paying the mortgage for 2 years is not on.

    How can her 150,000 mortgage cost 1,200 to service?

    My 340,000 mortgage costs 1,040.

    :confused::confused:

    she said she had a sub prime mortgage, so the interest is probably sky high...or she's got her figurers wrong.

    How can you have a job and be declared insolvent?

    If you were on the dole and you were a qualified theoretical physicist with no possibility of getting a job, then fair enough, but a reasonably young, healthy qualified teacher with a job. I dont get it.

    So basically she knew she couldnt afford it in the first place, whatever way she massaged her figures.

    Just caught a bit of this - her husband died? Did she not have life cover/critical illness/mortgage protection etc.?

    If she is declared insolvent, does she get to keep the house?

    Does she realise, if she is declared insolvent she will probably never be issued a credit card ever again.

    Does he want to tell us which of the failed banking institutions he was lending for, before we start giving credence to his advice..

    Has anyone else noticed that a lot of the calls to Liveline moaning about not being able to pay the mortgage, pay for clothes can't afford to eat etc., are from people who have decided to have 5 or 6 kids. :rolleyes:
